I'm lookin to pick one up for my dad for his birthday this year. Something around the 300-500 dollar range. Just looking for something nice and functional for his car. Something that doesn't scream "break my windows and steal me".
Any ideas?![]()

*watching thread with interest*
I want to get my son one if he ever graduates from college. He can't find his way to the restroom.
I do want that gives verbal directions, though.
I use a tomtom, works very well for me, my mate had a Navman, that also did the job well.

I almost thought you wanted to know how it works...I about wrote you a book
I'm a "Geospatial Analyst"
I got awful excited over those 3 little letters

Paging Neverlostologist...

My co-worker uses a Garmin Quest
http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Pocket-.../dp/B0002JUH3O
While it's Garmins budget model, it works extremely well and you it has enough memory to program in more than one state (unless you're in an extremely large state like Texas). When I get licensed and thrown out onto the road alone, I'll definitely be buying a good Garmin one (for $150 more, the nuvi 360 looks mighty appealing considering it'll load all of North America on their, has a better built in antenna, etc.).
