i really like my Jackson DR-7 but the neck heel is very bulky(a bit like the newer PRS heels but wider because it's a seven string) and i'd like to sculpt it a little so it gets a bit smoother.
Considering that it's a bolt on, do you think sanding away some wood(just to get a better position for my thumb mainly) at the heel would make things unstable?
I don't want to refinish the complete neck so is there anything usefull to seal up the sanded areas and not having to do it all over the neck?
Do you guys agree that different grids of sandpaper would probably be the best way to do this?
Tell me what you think,
Regards,
Daniel
