I had boxes of the old Danelectro pickups that came from the old factory in NJ and I would wire a pair into a HB config...put them in a Tele I had. Low output, but a lot of beef, sounded good. Didn't the Dano RI's have something like this in some models?

Dano's Hodad had a pair of them, and GFS makes some that fit a standard 'bucker route.

I have a U3 where the pickups are wired in series to each other. I'm sure they don't sound like a 'bucker, but it is a big sound that's still low output and has a bit of a honky hollowness to them.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.
