again, for those wondering if it's an act, the art form of acting is taking a new twist here and Phoenix has a lot of guts to attempt it and ruin his rep as a sane person in the process.

and no one has yet mentioned his "brain-eating-frog" interview? no one else saw that?

Never seen a brain-eating frog but have come face to face with a soul-sucking ex.

I looked for it on youtube but it doesn't seem to be there, but there are dozens of others documenting his strange behavior over the last couple of years.

Anyway, it was a red carpet interview. Phoenix stopped mid-answer and asked if there was a frog in his hair. The interviewer said, "...no?" ...and Phoenix went on to discuss his concern about a possible frog in his hair attempting to eat his brains.

If he pulls this off he will be a legend, as will the "documentary" about it be legendary. Heck, even if he doesn't pull it off he will be a legend, except the "documentary" will be seen as real. Kinda like my idiot ex-wife thought Spinal Tap was a real documentary at first.

Joaquin Phoenix is one of my favorite actors. I haven't been keeping up with this stuff, but I just watched some clips of the interview. Man, he is hilarious. Whether he's being serious or playing some kind of joke on everyone, I think it's awesome.

Uhm ... dont think its an act, if it is, Russell Crowe needs to ***** slap his ass again, lets see how that schmock will "hold" the character then.

once more,

he is being filmed and documented everywhere he goes in order to make a years-long "documentary" about a great actor who topples to the very bottom.

then again, maybe that's a joke, too. Anyway, that is supposed to be why he has been acting more and more crazy for the last couple of years. Considering how well he is still able to act on screen, I am willing to believe it.

Ability to act onscreen != ability to be functional IRL.

He's talking like Steven Adler does on Sober House. And we know Steven is on heroin.

I hadn't heard of this until just now. That could explain it, since he's such a great actor.

care just enough to post that you don't care. Why the disdain?

whatever he's doing (I'm curious anyway), he's committed to it 100% whenever he's in public, as everyone with whom he comes in contact can attest: co-stars on film sets, interviewers, Letterman, rap audiences. To gradually go from normal to bonkers is either an act for the cameras following him around, or it's real and maybe has something to do with the tragedy around his bro' River. I want to see how he resolves it / it resolves him. To top Kaufman's like stunts, especially with the longevity it is taking for the setup, and with a greater payoff, which is a filmed chronicle of it all, is both interesting and really saying something.

Letterman was in on Kaufman's wrestling thing, too. He was probably surprised as anyone though when Andy got b!tch-slapped out of his chair. But, Dave aired it.

Not feeling any disdain, I'm just letting it go because I don't know what to think. It's his life, and I'd be willing to care for 120 minutes or so, but ya... I guess I should edit that out while I'm in this thread... HAHA!
