They're all Gibsons. The 490's & '57 are low output A2 PAF's, which have a vintage 1950's/1960's sound. The Dirty Fingers is a modern-sounding high output ceramic bridge PU.

So that's what you didn't like in the SG.

Any idea specifically which humbucker was in that Strat you liked? Alnico can be anything from a PAF to a JB.

And did it have a tremolo and if so what kind?
