Default Quick sale...Vintage amp.

Alright...something has popped up and I have a short time to make it happen so Im gonna try and move my 1960 Ampeg Jet amp. This is one of the early 6V6 Jet's not the later style...these sound much cooler IMHO...

It's recently been to Bruce Collins (Lew's brother) at Mission Amps and got a full top to bottom tune up and had any and all out of spec parts replaced, all the tubes were tested and a few choice mods were done to make the amp a little more versitile.

In good to great shape these amps bring $1000+ all the time but since this one is not at all mint and needs a speaker, and because Im in a hurry I'll let one of you guys hold it for $400 plus actual shipping.

I repeat...it DOES need a speaker. The original Jensen is long gone and the reissue Jensen thats in it now needs to be replaced.

With a Weber 12F125 Greenback or Eminence Lil Texas this amp is a low wattage SCREAMER with a KILLER swampy tremolo.

Drop me a PM or an email for details, condition and pictures...I'd LOVE to be able to move this thing in a few days at best...

You're right but I need some quick cash and property taxes have tired up my cash flow a little...this is just easier but more painful!!!

BUMP...here are some pics, they are older, the amp has had work since these shots were taken but you get the idea.

This is a smokin amp guys and for another $75 I'll put a reissue Greenback in it! Handwired, vintage goodness at a bargin price!

It's tube rectified with a pair of 6V6 and when Bruce had it for a tune up I asked him to check it all out...on a scope it's 11 watts before clip...right in line with a Princeton Reverb or Tweed Deluxe in terms of power.

One of the mods I had Bruce do was wire in an extension speaker jack on the bottom of the chassis that, when you plug it in disconnects the built in speaker...makes it super easy to go from jamming with the built in single 12 to running it though a 4x12!

BUMP with a price drop to $400...even after you add a speaker this is less than a Blues Jr...and this is a real made in the USA, handwired amp!

Sadly, I can't do anything for 2-3 weeks.

I have some business travel that has yet to be reimbursed, and more travel week after next.

I wonder what this would sound like with Eric's Alnico Blue Dog speaker in it?

If you want it let me know via PM, we can discuss details and I'd wait a week or 3 for you.

On the speaker front, an alnico Blue Dog won't fit in the cab...it's too deep, I tried it with my silver frame Vox speaker however a Weber ceramic Blue Dog should fit and sound killer.

Really, drop me a PM if you want to move on it...I got some interest on Craigslist but Id much rather see it go to a forum bro!

Bruce went over the amp top to bottom...tested all the caps, filters, trannys and tubes...The trannys are original and Bruce added an intensity control for the tremolo (stock Jets only have a speed control) as well as the speaker jack I mentoned earlier.

I'll include 5 extra ANOS 6SN7 Preamp tubes if that will sweeten the deal at all. The amp has 2 in it and I gathered up 5 more for spares...all 7 were tested by Bruce when he had the amp, they all test strong.

Drop me a PM if you have any questions.
