I'm sure this has been done before, but the results promise to be informative.
What is your favorite bridge humbucker? I'm talking what you would want on your Signature Model Les Paul, SG, ES-335, or PRS or other HXH guitar. Don't worry about what kind of music or amps or blah blah blah....... If a Custom Shop Luthier was building your dream axe, what Duncan HB would you choose for the bridge?...........Poll is coming up.............max of ten choices, so write in votes are welcome.................

My dream bridge HB wouldn't be going on a LP or PRS. It would be going on an ES335, ES175, or L5.

My favorite bridge HB is the one I currently have in my LP. The Suhr Doug Aldrich!

I can't believe how many like the C5, I put an A5 magnet in a Custom and it made it way too thin, but as always, YMMV...

One left out is the new Alternative 8. I'm working out a few issues with it but I really like it.

Pearly Gates Forever!
The best, sharp yet warm, near-indescribably good pickup. Almost as good as an A2P...

I like the Custom, C5, the JB, and Pearly Gates, but my safest bet would be the Distortion....maybe one of the others would go in after hearing it, but maybe not. I couldn't really say until I had a little break in time with the guitar to hear what fit it best.

![]() i would normaly pick the Custom myself but recently ive discovered how much the JB just kicks as in the right guitar and since this is a question of "what if my dream guitar was built" then i pick the JB as i would probably go with a charvel/strat head type guitar with maple board and floyd, a nice bright guitar with a JB just kicks too much ass

I voted the 59, as it is my favorite duncan pickup... and one of my all time favorites... but I really really dig my WCR Ironman for bridge... then the 59. I have something similar to the PG too... I like lots of stuff!

I voted JB, but I'd stick an A2 in it. That thing removes small animals in the house across the street in my Mahogany San Dimas Charvel!

I dunno what it is about the Custom 5, but I use mainly short scale mahogany/maple top guitars with rosewood fingerboards and it's absolutley perfect with that setup. It sounds like a really hot 70's Les Paul. I have the PG, P-Rails, Invader, Jazz Bridge, and Demon in other guitars and theyre all great in their own way, but the Custom 5 continues to impress me each time I play that guitar.
It will fatten up a Strat or make your Les Paul or SG really pissed off. My guitar player put one in his PRS Custom 24 and he says it blows the PRS pickup away. Just a great pickup all around.

JB. I'm grateful that the good people at Jackson have the wisdom to use it in most of their nicer production guitars.

I went JB too. I'm surprised it's winning the poll, given so many people apparently don't like it.
I love lots of Duncans, for various tones, but the JB is just about perfect for what I like. |

Only one vote? Bleh.
I like the C5 and CC equally well in various guitars, even in two identical guitars, and probably couldn't settle for "just one or the other" even for a custom build. |

I went with the Duncan Custom but really any of the customs are great. You should have put a Custom Shop option. There are a couple of custom shop pups I want to try out.
