Default RAWR!!!!! angry at wiring

so yea i just finished soldering my evh custom guitar and i was so exicted about it and i was like yea!!!! woot after 5 months ur done!!!!...nope....i plugged in the guitar with no strings just to check it out and there was humming....... sooooooo, i opened the back of the guitar and saw the red and white wires werent soldered and taped so i did so...and there was stil hum.....i used the SD wiring for 1 humbucker 1 volume and 1 tone the pickup is a gfs veh if pics r needed ill post some please help :<

btw when i started the wirring before i had the rosin solder, my dad and i started wiring it up and we used plumbing solder i guess and we covered the bare wire in it to make it longer so idk if that my be it.

I'd say, get rid of every trace of plumbing solder. It couldn't be more wrong for electrical connections. Every one of them done with that stuff has to be cleaned off and redone. Cut the wires back, too, and start over.

so take all the wires that i used the plumbing solder on off and cut them back or just cut all the wires from the pickup back?

Start with the ones that have the plumbing solder -- if you can tell one kind from the other. All connections made with it have to go.
