I don't think promoters should pay let alone hire acts that lip-synch. If they want to lip-synch they should enter an air-bands competition!

As for Britney Spears, who the hell would pay that kind of coin to see her? Do 10-15 year old girls actually have that much disposable income/that much control over their parents?

She would need to know how to read in order to use one.

When the whole Milli Vanilli thing blew up I don't think anyone was really shocked or dissapointed they didn't sing their songs. To me it seems that once everyone knew they could get their money back, that's when everything went south. Without the prospect of getting their money back it wouldn't have mattered at all.

The thought of Brittney Spears playing 15 shows in Australia is amazing to me! At this point in her career 15 total shows would seem to be a stretch.

Whilst i see benefits to lip-synching when dealing with elaborate dance routines and it kind of produces a grey area, overall i feel the term 'Live' should only be used when there is a singer actually singing, musicians playing their instruments, and drummers playing drums.

As mentioned already the fans of Britney et al probably couldn't care less, but my idealistic side would like to see a world where performers actually have the talent to perform on stage and not have to hide behind lip-synching

Britney's never been about the singing. It's about the dancing around in skimpy outfits.

That's all i've ever wanted her to show me. That's all anybody's paying for.

If all you want to see is a show, then buy the DVD and stay home. It's really that simple. If you pay real money for a real ticket and stand in a real line at a real concert venue, you should see the "artist" actually "perform", not "pretend".

This sort of lawsuit and legislation has the potential to eradicate these types of "artists" forever, and we should all rally for stricter guidelines on content as consumers with the express intention of crushing the industry within the music industry that generates these atrocities. No more Boy bands, no more Pre-Fabricated Four, no more junk like Britney Spears.
