In Other News The Boston quintet Diecast continues to expand their growing fan base by going on tour this month with Drowning Pool across the US and Canada in support of their most recent album, Internal Revolution. Seymour Duncan endorser Jonathan Kita (SH-5 Custom) and the rest of the band are going into this tour fresh from a two-month, 60-date run supporting Sevendust, and a nationwide tour with Sepultura at the end of 2006. After catching the metal community’s attention with 2005’s Forged in Fire, Firewind guitarist extraordinaire Gus G. (SH-1 ‘59 Model, SH-6 Distortion) continues to amaze fans with both his guitar playing and his songwriting on Firewind’s new album, Allegiance, a tour de force of speed, technicality and catchy songwriting. This fall, Firewind will pledge their allegiance to their U.S. fans by making their first trip stateside with this Greek metal powerhouse kicking things off on Sept. 19th. The U.S. tour will be capped off with a performance at the prestigious ProgPower festival. You can check out more about Firewind by going to www.firewind.gr/index.asp.

Seymour Duncan artists Dave Mustaine (LW-MUST) and Glen Drover (SH-6 Distortion, SH-1 ’59 Model) of Megadeth have both recently signed with Dean Guitars. Not only that, but the band has a new album out receiving rave reviews called United Abominations, which continues the thrash metal fury that has been their signature sound since 1983. If you haven’t noticed, many of our new artists are drawn from the heavier side of things in support of our new active humbucker, AHB-1 Blackouts. The big news is that we have brought on board Dino Cazares (Divine Heresy, Asesino, ex-Fear Factory) and Mick Thomson (Slipknot) and Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) to fly the Blackouts flag high and loud for us. Raise both hands to them in a metal salute…
Welcome aboard!
