Lynn Robison Named President, Rick McClendon Named VP Sales

Lynn Robison has been named President. He will replace Sabina MacDonald, who announced her retirement last year, effective spring of 2008. As President, Robison will oversee all departments, including Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources. Robison, who holds an MBA in business management from Pepperdine University, brings over 30 years of international business experience to Seymour Duncan. In past posts, he led divisions from companies in the manufacturing and service sectors. His manufacturing background was in the printing industry, managing the development, production and distribution of products for OEM accounts such as HP, Hitachi, and Lexmark, as well as after-market compatibles sold through national retail channels. Within the service sector, he provided supply chain service support for high tech computer, medical and consumer electronic products. Those services included logistics, depot repair, warranty fulfillment and asset recovery for accounts such as Best Buy, Sears and GE Healthcare.

According to MacDonald, "My 10 years with Seymour Duncan have been outstanding. The owners are engaged and excited about the business, the management team is a cohesive, productive unit, and we are all very proud of the product. I’m excited that Lynn will be taking over the reigns. And I’m looking forward to working alongside him for nearly four months prior to my departure in the spring.”

As Vice President Sales, Rick McClendon will oversee sales of Seymour Duncan’s after-market pickups and stompbox products worldwide. In addition, he will oversee sales of D-TAR, Seymour Duncan’s all-acoustic guitar sister company. McClendon brings Seymour Duncan over 30 years experience in sales and marketing in the M.I. and Pro Audio industries. Previously, he held senior sales positions with industry leaders such as TASCAM, Roland and Harmon. During his tenure at each company he successfully increased revenues by implementing a win-win management style. According to MacDonald, “Rick’s ability to partner with dealers combined with his comprehensive understanding of the marketplace make him an ideal fit and an integral part of taking Seymour Duncan to the next level.”

Seymour Duncan and D-TAR are privately held companies based in Santa Barbara, California that manufacture and distribute musical instrument accessories.
