This Spring, George Lynch took part in a two week clinic tour in Mainland China that introduced Mr. Scary to literally hundreds of thousands of guitar fans and future Seymour Duncan users. None other than our fearless sales manager, Billy Gill, ably assisted George on this jaunt. The tour took George through Shanghai, Shenyang, Beijing, ShiJiaZhuang, XiAn, ChengDu, ChongQin, Nanning, GuangZhou and Shenzhen. Wow! Velvet Revolver's new album Contraband (RCA) came out June 8, just in time to coincide with the band's return to LA. The album features axe-men Slash (Alnico Pro Humbuckers), Dave Kushner (Duncan Custom) and Duff McKagan (Hot Stack for Jazz Bass). Speaking of LA, the band's summer tour kicked off with a warm-up show at the famous Roxy in Hollywood. According to Slash's guitar tech, Adam Day, Slash got his start on the Sunset Strip and he wanted to start off the tour with a homage to his early club days. By the time this story goes to print, the band will have begun a short hiatus, just in time for Slash's new baby to arrive.

Finger style acoustic guitarist, Laurence Juber (Mag Mic, D-TAR Solstice) has just returned from tours in both Europe and Japan and is heading into the studio to produce Al Stewart's new record. In between, he's doing film scoring and he's preparing his second instructional book for Warner Bros., which will include transcriptions of his recorded versions of "Little Wing" and "Layla." We were treated to LJ's amazing acoustic guitar stylings at a recent Santa Barbara show at Club SoHo. For more information click on over to www.laurencejuber.com.

Blues Saraceno (Blues Saraceno Model, Seth Lovers) is all over Melissa Etheridge's new album, Lucky (Island). Not to be content with just one major gig, he's also contributing to the Extreme Music Library -- which provides "drops" for television shows. So if you're watching Life with Bonnie, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Friends, or any of a number of shows, you're hearing Blues without knowing it. He's also doing music for The Dead Zone on USA; and he just finished producing and writing the upcoming new album from Lindsay Price (Coupling). And... he just got married! One question: when does the guy ever sleep?

Mike Stone (JB and '59) has been out and about with Queensryche of late. In addition to touring with the band, Mike is all over the new Queensryche DVD and album, The Art of Live. He also just played an acoustic set with Queensryche's Michael Wilton (Custom Custom and Alnico II Pro Humbucker) on Cold Pizza, ESPN's morning sports show. And to top it off, Michael and Mike stopped by Seymour Duncan recently to tour the factory. In addition to his work with Queensryche, Mike's solo project, Transonics, just come out with a new record.

Explains Johnny, "This is a true live album, not the usual back-in-the-studio, over-produced stuff that is common nowadays; so I do hope you appreciate how real this sweat-dripping performance is with its very intentional rawness...Anyway, crank it up and enjoy listening to The Thunder from Down Under!
