New From D-TAR - The Sadducer™ Returns

You may remember the Sadducer from its days as a Seymour Duncan product. But as with the other piezo-based pickups like the SoundSpots™ and Perfect Timbre™, the Sadducer™ is moving over to the D-TAR line.

The Sadducer is an under-saddle-transducer that uses six discrete piezo crystals, one for each string. The result is a high-output pickup designed for even frequency response. It's exceptional for melody players, especially those who play over the entire fingerboard. But perhaps the biggest plus is that, unlike other piezo film pickups, the Sadducer does not require a built-in or off-board preamp to boost and smooth the signal. That means no batteries required!

The Sadducer series includes mono and stereo (split output) pickups; and pickups for steel string and nylon string guitars. The four Sadducer models are: steel-mono, steel-stereo, nylon-mono, and nylon-stereo.
If you'd like to learn more about the Sadducer and other D-TAR products, check out the D-TAR website, www.d-tar.com, or call D-TAR (805-964-9610) and ask for customer service.

Seymour & Friends celebrated Earth Day this Spring by performing for Santa Barbara on the steps of the County Court House. The gala event was hosted by the Community Environmental Council and featured a music line up that included local surf-crooner, Jack Johnson as headliner. This incarnation of The Seymour Duncan Band featured Jeff Pevar (Alnico II for Strat®) from Crosby, Stills & Nash; former Canned Heat guitarist, Jamie Shane (vocals); local blues legend Alastair Greene (Pearly Gates™); and our own VP of Marketing, Evan Skopp (Phat Cats™). Seymour rocked the planet with his original “Tele-Gib” loaded with Antiquity humbuckers.

Seymour Rocks Japan
This past July 4th weekend, Seymour, along with Cathy Carter Duncan and Evan Skopp, headed off to Tokyo to celebrate ESP's 30th Anniversary. ESP is not just a great guitar company (that also owns Schecter and Musician's Institute in Hollywood), they're also a major force in the Japanese musical instruments scene with a chain of stores and various music schools. And, they're Seymour Duncan's Japanese distributor. If you thought Seymour Duncan pickups were popular in the USA, you ain't seen nothing. The Anniversary party featured a searing blues-rock set from Seymour, who was assisted by Evan on rhythm guitar and ESP's Jose Ferro on bass. Arigato, ESP!
