In Other News - Mark Akin, multi-platinum soundtrack recording artist for the insanely popular Anime series Dragonball Z, released his new CD AlienCarChase this past February AlienCarChase is available through CdBaby, iTunes, and many other music sites. Check it out. Mark was recently interviewed by David McLean for his "Guitar Gods" column at http://www.skinnydevil.com/GuitarGods.html. RAVI www.HeyRavi.com ramps up his "Instant Guitarification" www.InstantGuitarification.com clinics this year, bringing the magic of looping and multitrack recording using Greg Bennett guitars (all stocked with Duncan Designed pickups) to guitar enthusiasts all over the country. He has already toured much of the West and East Coasts this year, and this summer he'll hit the Midwest, Northern Plains, and Southern Plains. Then, he'll head to Europe for some festival performances. Ravi will also be lecturing at conferences (including NAMM) and universities, continue writing for the industry trades, and embark on a new recording. It's a busy year, and next year looks to be just as exciting. Be sure to catch him on the road! Gwyn Ashton (Antiquity Texas Hot for Strat) just completed a successful tour of Germany with Dan Wilkes on bass and Chris Sharley on drums. The album Prohibition was released in the UK in May but on either side of the pond you can get a copy from Gwyn's websites www.gwynashton.com and www.myspace.com/gwynashtonmusic.

Tommy Bolan's (JB and Duncan Distortion Model Humbuckers) instructional DVD, Metal Primer, has been released in Tower Records, FYE, and many other places worldwide. Be sure to check it out.

Rise Against was very busy this past spring recording their second Geffen release, The Sufferer and the Witness, which saw a release date on July 4th. After playing five sold out shows in Los Angeles with fellow Duncanites Strike Anywhere, the guys have joined up with the Vans Warped Tour, playing the main stage on every stop. Joining Rise Against are Duncan artists Aiden, The Academy Is, Against Me!, Cartel, Emanuel, Gym Class Heroes, NOFX, Over It, Protest The Hero, Senses Fail, Silverstein, Stretch Arm Strong, Spitalfield, Thursday, Underoath, Valient Thorr and Zebrahead.

If punk is not your thing, then maybe metal is? Fear not, there are plenty of metal festivals trekking across the US this summer. You can catch Trivium and Evergreen Terrace on the Sounds of the Underground Tour, Lamb Of God and Mastodon on the Unholy Alliance Tour or Darkest Hour, Himsa and Suffocation on the Strhess Tour. And if those aren't enough, there is always Ozzfest, featuring performances by Duncan artists A Life Once Lost and Norma Jean.

Welcome New D-TAR Artists - Carlos Oliveira (Timber-Line, Equinox, Mama Bear), Dave Baumgartner (Twin Soundspot Classic), Ed Hamilton (Equinox), Jonah Matranga (Twin Soundspot Classic).
