Star Performer - Matt Blackett, Sr. Manager New Products

After a yearlong search, we tapped Matt Blackett to join us as Senior Manager, New Products. Matt comes to us after a stint as Editor In Chief of Frets magazine and Consulting Editor for Guitar Player. In addition to his work as a writer, he has worked as a professional guitarist, guitar teacher, and retail salesman at Music Works in the Bay Area. In his newly created position, Matt will coordinate and oversee all aspects of product development for Seymour Duncan and D-TAR, including research to determine market needs, management of all aspects of the development cycle, implementation of a comprehensive new products release schedule, and evaluation of new products' success. Matt's connection to Seymour Duncan goes back to the early-`90s when he was a product specialist and demonstrated our pickups at NAMM shows and at clinics. In the mid-`90s, he produced, performed, and recorded our Journey Is the Destination sound sample CD series. Matt is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and his outside interests include baseball, Beatles folklore, his brand new Honda Element, and his uber-accurate EVH replica guitar.
