Star Performer - Jessica Sonquist

There’s a new generation of guitar player out there and part-time Administrative Assistant Jessica Sonquist is one of them. When she’s not helping out in the Sales Department taking calls and processing orders, Jessica lends a hand with Artist Relations, where she scouts new artists, administers our 500-plus artist endorsement agreements, and runs the Seymour Duncan web page on MySpace.com. She’s also a pickup wiring and installation pro, and helps Sales, Artist Relations and the Custom Shop with pickup installations and guitar setups. She attends concerts at least once a week; and her favorite punk and metal bands include Strung Out, Death By Stereo, Children of Bodom, Rise Against, Strike Anywhere, A Wilhelm Scream and Soilwork. A good number of these heavy, youth-oriented bands have joined the Seymour Duncan family, thanks to Jessica’s proactive artist outreach.

This UCSB Sociology major interned at Lobster Records before joining us. Jessica's main axe is loaded with a pair of pickups created for her in the Custom Shop as a birthday present from Seymour. The bridge pickup is an over-wound JB with a ceramic magnet matched with an overwound Jazz neck model. Jessica calls them "Bitchbuckers," and, as would befit any self-respecting riot grrl, they're bright pink.
