Star Performer - Derek Duncan

Ever wonder what it’d be like to have Seymour W. Duncan and Cathy Carter Duncan as your parents? Well, if you’re 21 year old, Derek Duncan, you know exactly what it’s like. Santa Barbara-born, Derek has worked on and off with Seymour Duncan Pickups since fourth grade. But in the last few months, he’s come on board full-time as Custom Shop Assistant, working alongside his dad. Derek’s specialty is physical fabrication and design consulting on custom pickups.

Outside of work, Derek enjoys desert racing: both motorcycles and off-road trucks. A consummate tinkerer like his father, Derek learned about automotive mechanics from hands-on experience. One of his recent highlights was going out to lunch with his dad and Custom Shop client, Steve Miller. Five years from now, Derek sees himself continuing his work with the custom shop: handling oddball and unique requests.
