Seymour Duncan Amps - I’ve seen similar SD Amps called 84-40 and 84-50. What’s the difference?
The 84-50 was American made and of much better quality. Circuit wise, the two amps are nearly identical, but there were some differences in the voicing. Even the various versions of the 84-40 were voiced differently. None of the differences were anything major. The 84-50 had a different driver stage that was lower in gain, but more linear.
