Seymour Duncan has been making bass pickups for decades for some of the biggest names in the business, such as Flea, Steve Harris and Duff McKagan. We understand just how important your bass sound is to the overall sound of the band and your own personal musical expression. That’s why we make single coils, humbuckers, active pickups, bass preamps, specialty models and pedals to help you customize the tone of your instrument, no matter what type of bass you play.
The heart of the Quarter Pound series is its 1/4” pole pieces which beef up the pickup’s magnetic field and give you a fatter, punchier tone that’s great for harder-hitting styles like heavy rock and metal, or for simply getting more growl and grind from your bass.
Whether you play a 4-string or 5-string Music Man or similar style bass, and whether you prefer a vintage or modern sound, we have pickups for you. Our Music Man pickups are offered in an aggressively punchy ceramic version as well as an authentic, organically-voiced Alnico 5 version and a three-coil Alnico 5 model which can be paired with a three-way blade switch for three different hum-cancelling sounds from one pickup.
The Apollo 4-string set has a traditional Jazz Bass look but its full, warm voice is augmented by extra punch and clarity. These linear humbuckers eliminate noise while creating a sonic fatness.
The Studio Bass is a pro-grade compressor with a twist: its unique Blend knob and 3-way mini toggle switch will allow you to select the frequency range of the original uncompressed signal as well as infinitely adjusting the amount of “wet” versus “dry” signal routed to the output.
This set is all about hot output, powerful attack and massive attitude. The 1/4” diameter poles and hot coil windings dish out a full, even response with great sustain and complexity. And the neck pickup is wound RW/RP (reverse wind / reverse polarity) for hum cancellation when both pickups are used together.
