    1) How's the studio doing? Figured out what you're gonna do with that space by the stairs?

    2) What would you recommend to anyone starting out on the six stringed path? Do's and Don'ts?

Here's a good one that I think has been answered before, but I can't remember.

Have you been married before, and if so, any kids from that marriage?

(I intend to be as personal as possible with my questions without crossing a line or being offensive, just decent, personal questions)

And as always, feel free to skip my question altogether.

Oh. Okay. Sorry. My question was probably too personal.

Oh dammit I should've used my question to ask your middle name! Sonofadarnit.

Somebody please ask him his middle name, cause he won't say otherwise.

    Oh man, this sucks.

I got drunk at a Jack & Jill greenback shower -- let me know if you don't know what that is -- and I played air guitar to "Enter Sandman" in front of everyone. Head banging, hair flailing, fingers shredding. I think I even made a crazy metal face right in front of some old lady. My girlfriend was absolutely mortified. I had fun though. Besides the bride, groom and friends I went with, I didn't know a soul there. Haven't seen any of them since.

    Exit light…

Ah yes, the burping. Love that warm, curdled, pre-digested milk. We have a stack of clean, neatly folded burp cloths that reach from here to Iowa.

Never. I can only assume it's a movie, but for all I know, it could be a television series. Perhaps it's the strange name of your equally strange neighbor's pet wombat. Am I warm?

I still need a caddy for my laptop, and three more picture frames to complete The Beatles Wall. Other than that, it's pretty much complete. Oh, except for what to do about that dam*ed space under the stairs. I'm thinking about hanging a nice curtain in front of that area, but I spent money on an eyeball light fixture trained on that space, so I figure I should do something a little more eye-catching, and not hide it. I certainly need a space for my pedals.

    • If your passion is electric guitar, don't start on an acoustic. It more than likely will frustrate you. I started on acoustic guitar and hated it. I was learning "Claire de Lune," but I wanted to play "Dr. Love."
    • Find someone about your age, maybe a few years older than you, who is better than you, but not by leaps and bounds. Pick his brain, watch how he plays, get inspired! If you're watching someone whose playing is light years ahead of you, you may get discouraged. We need constant, reachable challenges.
    • Don't expect every practice day to be better than the day before. Learning an instrument is mostly two steps forward, one step back. Don't beat yourself up for not being able to play the way you played yesterday.
    • Always work on the tricky stuff, but don't forget to reward yourself by noodling around a little bit here and there. Learning a new instrument can be difficult and frustrating, but it should be fun as well. Don't make it a chore.
    • Learn music by ear. Lock yourself in a room, turn on the amp, plug in, and get that Cream CD going. Then learn your favorite tune -- I hope it's something like "Sittin' on Top of the World" -- note for note. Learn small passages at a time, then connect them. When you start playing along with Clapton, even for fourteen seconds, you really will feel like you're sittin' on top of the world. (Oh, and if Cream ain't your bag, find someone else who inspires you.)
That's a starting point for dos and don'ts.

    Seriously....

Do you have that Kramer for sentimental reasons or are you secretly a Reb Beach fanatic from when the Winger era?

No need for me to skip this one.

I've been married before. The woman I married had a son from a previous relationship. That guy flew the coop, so she and I raised her son -- who, for all intents and purposes, was my son as well -- from the time he was nine months old. He called me "Dad," and he was in every way (except genetically) my son.

She and I married, and we had another son together. When the oldest was eight and the youngest three, we separated and eventually divorced, for reasons I'll explain if you want to know.

After much heartache and scraping at rock-bottom, I fell in requited love with a woman who had suffered a very similar breakup. She had a son from her prior marriage as well. We were friends for almost three years before we started dating each other, and about a year after that, we got married. Three weeks and two days ago, we had a baby daughter.

    Life astounds me.

    Fair enough.

My middle name is -- and this pains me to type, but remember that I had nothing to do with it -- Gordon. My porn star name is still The Fist.

Where does each candidate stand on the issue of privatized health care?

I have the Kramer for two reasons, one of them not related to Kip or Reb:
    1. That was my third guitar, but what I consider my first real guitar. Prior to the Kramer Focus, I owned a Cort first, then a Kramer Striker.
    2. Listening to Rid's clips made me want to bring the Focus back to life. I have to say that the Focus plays and sounds light years better than I expected it to, after sitting in a case for about seventeen years.
    "She's only seventeen…"
