Default does cloth covered wire matter?

Cleaned up a 1965 pre CBS Super Reverb. Went thru every solder joint, cleaned out and reflowed, rewired with new wire and used shielded wire for signal flow...tested capacitance and DC leak on all blue molded coupling caps...replaced other caps with modern spec equivalent...sounds great...dead silent...

Cloth-covered wire sure looks awesome as hell. I don’t know if there are any technical trade-offs.

Never seen voltage ratings for the UNCOATED, cloth covered wire but I bet it's pretty low. There were cloth covered wires with a plastic coating over the cloth that was 600V rated wire and used in wiring in old homes.
Now, there is 300v and 600v pvc insulated wire with a cloth cover so you get the voltage rating and the cool looks.

I've never used it, I simply said that it's available. But I'm sure I could wire a heater string with anything. Some wire types are just easier to work with than others. Personally, I'd rather just chuck two lengths of solid core in a drill, twist em up and use that for the heater string.
