Biography

Ana Karina's musical trajectory is marked by the synergy between family encouragement and her solid academic training. Her artistic career began at the age of 9, with guitar and keyboard lessons, followed by studying Electric Bass at the age of 11 at the Universidade Livre de Música (ULM), now EMESP Tom Jobim. For eight years, Ana absorbed knowledge in electric bass, musical theory and ensemble practice at that institution. In addition, she graduated with a degree in Music, expanding her theoretical knowledge base.

Versatile in musical expression, Ana Karina played with renowned Brazilian artists, such as Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Tom Zé, Gal Costa, Martinho da Vila, Elza Soares, Paulinho da Viola, Alcione, among others, during her participation in the program "Conversa com Bial" from Rede Globo. In parallel to television, her work includes partnerships with several national and international artists, such as Maria Gadú, Chico César, Arrigo Barnabé, Liniker, Tony Lindsay, Nik West, Fresno, among others.

Ana Karina has achieved recognition on national and international stages, being present at important festivals such as Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza, The Town, Paléo Festival (Switzerland), Jazz À Vienne (France), Roskilde (Denmark), Kyotophonie (Japan) and JammCard ( USA). In addition to her contributions as an instrumentalist, Ana Karina also takes on production roles at Raw Audio, getting involved in the creation of soundtracks and musical productions for artists.

Ana Karina also continues her journey as a solo artist, where her diverse repertoire echoes the fusion of different musical influences. From jazz to R&B, including samba, funk, soul and MPB. In her performances, Ana Karina transcends the boundaries of the genre, creating an immersive and captivating musical experience for her audience.

Standing out even more in her career, Ana Karina won the title of the first Brazilian to have an exclusive bass, the Black Gold, launched in 2019 by Tagima. Furthermore, his artistic contribution is reflected in two Latin Grammy-winning albums: “Indigo Borboleta Anil” (Liniker) in 2022 and “Em Nome Da Estrela” (Xenia) in 2023.
