Did seymour w. Duncan really wind pickups for jimi hendrix?

Last Updated on October 17th, 2019

Seymour worked on Jimi’s guitars in 1968, hand-rewinding old Fender pickups that had broken. He was invited to a show Xavier University in Cincinnati and spent a good part of the day with Jimi and his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience with Noel Redding on bass/backing vocals and Mitch Mitchell on drums. Seymour went early for the sound check and was hanging out with Jimi in the back dressing room. Seymour and Jimi were playing guitar together, and Jimi showed Seymour some of his tricks & techniques. Seymour wound Jimi’s pickups at Dodd’s Music on Calhoun St. in Cincinnati, on their winding machine.
