Description

Our Tone Circuits will add a tremendous amount of on-board tonal versatility to any dual pickup bass. This design enables players to boost or cut specifically focused frequencies in order to achieve signature tones and to dial in a great sound no matter what the situation. We even added two small trim pots on the circuit board can be tweaked to preset the frequency contour EQ just the way you want.

The STC-3A Tone Circuit provides a 4-knob prewired harness that includes a stacked basstreble control, a midrange control, a master volume, a blend control, and our proprietary Slap Switch. The treble control can produce a wide ranging, extremely usable response that is brilliant, yet smooth without being brittle. Our midrange control can be used to just slightly remove excess midrange honk or to add sonic power that will really make solos jump out. The bass can be reduced to tighten up a boomy instrument, or it can be increased to add warmth and punch. The Slap Switch is a pushpull located on the volume control. Pulling up on the volume knob will engage the special EQ contour voiced specifically for slap playing.

The STC-3A will work in any bass that is equipped with two active pickups and has space for 4 control knobs (volumeslap switch, blend, concentric bass and treble controls) and a single 9v battery in the control cavity. Two 9v batteries can be wired together in series for added headroom. We include all necessary mounting hardware high-quality potentiometers on pre-wired harness; battery clip; and black anodized, knurled, dome-style knobs.

I have a Schecter bass

I have a Schecter bass with EMG 35P and J active pickups, but the preamp system was 2-band and minimal tonal variation/EQ sweep. I got great advice from tech support and the new active 3 band active EQ has more output/punch and lots of EQ possibilities with the midrange control--really brought these pickups to life. Great upgrade!

Stc-3 active bass preamp

I added this preamp and a set of SD Qt. pound PJ bass pickups to a 2006 Fender mex p-bass deluxe special with jazz neck and already active circuit. Red,gold pick guard and maple fret board. Also added hipshot tuner pegs and hipshot B style aluminum bridge. I would put this bass up to any American deluxe, elite, or ultra bass and it will hold its own all day and night. I also have a 2005 Fender Jazz bass 24 which has the same Qt. pound jazz pickups and same preamp just older version with slap switch instead of push/pull knob. Anyway both these basses are awesome. I love SD pickups in bass and guitar. Have a little 59 in my mex strat and about to add a JB to my fender duo sonic HH. You can’t go wrong with SD pickups and preamps. If I could afford l would just about have them in every guitar and bass I own. Anyway this 3 band bass preamp is powerful especially with the Qt. pound pickups but not over bearing, smooth punchy and in your face but quiet. I just love it.
