Biography

Georgia born guitarist Ryan Knight first made waves as the lead guitarist for The Black Dahlia Murder, joining in early 2009. His debut album with the band, Deflorate (Sept 2009), sold approximately 12,000 copies in its first week and debuted at #43 on the Billboard 200. The album also charted at #5 on Billboard’s Independent Albums, #4 on Top Hard Music, and even hit #52 in Canada

Knight continued to shape the band's sound on:

Ritual (June 2011) – debuted at #31 on Billboard 200, with first-week sales of ~12,960

Everblack (June 2013) – opened at #32 on Billboard 200, selling about 13,000 copies in its first week

Abysmal (2015) – debuted at #45 on Billboard 200

After departing in early 2016 for family and personal growth, Knight ventured into solo territory. On November 16, 2018, he released Sunbelt Bliss—a nine-track instrumental album weaving rock, surf, jazz, bluegrass, country, and metal.

In 2024, Knight returned to The Black Dahlia Murder for their tenth album, Servitude (Sept 27, 2024), marking his comeback after Trevor Strnad’s passing
