Semir Özerkan

Semir Ozerkan is a bassist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer with over two decades of experience in heavy music. Born in Turkey, Semir moved to the United States 16 years ago to pursue a career in music and quickly established himself within the metal scene through relentless work ethic, technical ability, and musical versatility.

With more than 20 years of experience on bass and guitar, Semir studied Music and Marketing at San Antonio College, combining formal education with extensive real-world experience in performance, touring, and music production. Since relocating to the U.S., he has performed with over 11 bands, steadily building a reputation as a powerful and precise player both in the studio and on stage.

Semir has performed and toured internationally with bands including Oceans of Slumber and Necrofier, appearing across major markets in North America, South America, and Europe. His playing blends aggressive modern metal technique with deep musicality, drawing from progressive, extreme, and classic metal influences.

Currently, Semir serves as the full-time bassist for the legendary metal band Nevermore, bringing his technical precision and stage experience to one of metal’s most respected acts. In addition to performing, he is actively involved in writing, producing, and arranging music, and also contributes vocals, showcasing a broad creative skill set beyond bass performance.

Known for his powerful tone, tight rhythmic execution, and musical adaptability, Semir continues to push forward as both a performer and creator in the global metal community.
