Can you change the magnets in a humbucker?

Last Updated on October 17th, 2019

Yes. Changing your magnet will most likely change the sound in your pickup. If you use a stronger magnet, you will probably hear a little more output and a brighter sounding pickup. If you use a weaker magnet, you will probably hear a warmer sweeter tone. The weaker magnets are my favorite and I’ve often used early Gibson bar magnets from broken pickups in my newer pickups with great success.

Please check your items carefully and confirm they are correct for color, position, etc. We are not able to accommodate order changes or cancellations once you have completed the check out process.
