There are many models of pickups available with so many combinations of bobbins, magnets, magnet wire gauges, number of turns, pole spacing, pole piece types, colors, materials, shapes and pickup positions. With just using the various magnets, magnet wire gauges, magnet types and various number of turns you have available thousands of types of pickups that can be made. We are just beginning to make the many combination and possibilities available to the musician. I’ve made guitar pickups that have been used to communicate with Dolphins, hearing aids, mechanical counters etc. There are so many guitars that need pickup modifications as a replacement or different sound.
