Seymour Duncan Introduces the Killing Floor Boost Pedal

SANTA BARBARA, CA June 27, 2016 Seymour Duncan, a leading manufacturer of pickups and pedals, announces the Killing Floor High Gain Boost, an elevated boost pedal designed to give you an extra kick in output and a beefier tone.

The Killing Floor is both a volume boost and a musical amp-like overdrive all in one. “This pedal was created to give people a rich, hot-rodded sound with up to 34db gain,” says Max Gutnik, SVP of Products and CRO at Seymour Duncan. “It goes beyond what a traditional booster offers for those who want the sound and feel of an overworked vintage amp on 10.”

The Killing Floor’s features include:

  • True Bypass
  • Made in the USA
  • Up to 34dB of gain
  • High Boost/High Cut/Flat Response Voicing switch

The Killing Floor High Gain Boost will be available in July. More information can be found here: http://www.seymourduncan.com/pedal/killing-floor

Talking Tone With Bad Religion’s Brian Baker

Brian Baker of Bad Religion

By Elysse Miller

I feel fortunate to have grown up during the punk and industrial heyday. One of the pillars of punk, Bad Religion, recently embarked on a new tour that started in Ventura, California. I watched in admiration as these legends played for hours, spanning their entire catalog and hitting their fans with the biting energy they are known for. Dogman By King’s X: An Underrated Classic

kingsx-dogman

By Jay Hale

If one had to list what were the most criminally underrated albums of the 90s, King’s X’s Dogman would be high on the list. Whether due to the changing tides of music at the time, the advent of grunge, the ripple effect of the death of glam metal, etc, it slipped under radar of many at the time when it should have been a huge hit. The Pickups Of Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine changed the path of metal rhythm guitar: the kinds of chords and riffs, the attack and aggression of the picking style, and the crunch and bite of the tone itself. For many years – until he developed his signature Dave Mustaine LW-MUST Livewire pickups with us – Dave used the JB and Jazz humbuckers (otherwise known as the Hot Rodded Humbucker Set). That Poor, Misunderstood Telecaster Rhythm Pickup

Seymour Duncan Telecaster Neck Pickup

By Dave Eichenberger

In the beginning, there was the Esquire. Almost 70 years ago, the genesis of the Telecater started with its one-pickup father, which contained a single bridge pickup with a 3-way switch giving us a few sounds that couldn’t be found on the later Telecaster. Seymour Duncan Releases Bonamassa Signature Skinner Burst Pickup Set

Seymour Duncan Releases Bonamassa Signature Skinner Burst Pickup Set

June 1, 2016 (Santa Barbara, CA) – Seymour Duncan, a leading manufacturer of pickups and pedals, announces the release of the limited edition Joe Bonamassa Signature Skinner Burst humbucker set. This set is an exact replica of the pickups in his popular Principal Skinner Les Paul. These are wound on the historic Leesona machine that wound the original Skinner humbucker.

“When the idea came about to create a second set of Seymour Duncan pickups, Principal Skinner was the logical choice. It’s one of my favorite guitars, I play it every day,” said Joe Bonamassa. “It’s all about bringing alive the sound in your head, and the consistency Seymour Duncan is able to push out is amazing. I am impressed and I think people will love the accuracy of these pickups.”

Each antiqued nickel-silver cover is an exact replica of Principal Skinner guitar pickups, down to the indentations. Alnico 3 magnets, period-correct butyrate bobbins, and maple spacers offer a vintage vibe to these pickups. These sets will be handcrafted in Santa Barbara, CA. Each of the 800 numbered sets will be hand signed by Seymour W. Duncan and Joe Bonamassa.

“Joe is an amazing artist and an esteemed member of the Seymour Duncan family,” said Max Gutnik, SVP of Products and CRO. “We are very excited to work with him on a new set of pickups so close to his heart. We look forward to bringing the Principal Skinner signature sound to guitar players everywhere.”

The Joe Bonamassa Signature Skinner Burst humbucker set will be available June 7, 2016 through the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop website.
