Description

Our custom Antiquity aging process adds a sweetness to the vintage Jaguar single-coils’ already warm tone. The calibrated Alnico 2 rod magnets soften the treble attack to deliver a Surf tone without any harsh pick attack. This Antiquity Jaguar neck pickup is wound RWRP so that, when used together with the bridge model, they will be hum-canceling. These pickups are drop-in replacements for any Fender American Standard sized Jaguar pickup and will fit into the existing cover and claw.Hand built in our Custom Shop, these vintage Jaguar single coil pickups use Alnico 2 rod magnets, a custom coil wind with heavy formvar mag wire, cloth push-back lead wire, and they are all lacquered and wax potted like the originals.

I build, restore and update

I build, restore and update several different types of Electric guitars. I have found that Seymour Duncan pickups are consistently of a quality build and the output is as advertised. From using the Antiquity single coil for a Jaguar build to a Les Paul build using MJ’s Magicbuckers, from the custom shop, the pickups always perform!

Tried to do as much

Tried to do as much research as I could to find the right pickups to drop into my Classic Vibe Jaguar that would make it sound more vintage with low output warmth. After putting some Alnico 2 pickups in my Strat I confirmed that was the soft, bell-like quality I was after and wanted something similar for my Jag. After watching Seymour Duncan's videos demoing the different Jag pickups on offering, I was blown away by the way the Antiquity 1's sounded, highly recommend watching if you're considering. Presentation is great, feels like pulling old pickups out of a cigar box from an antique store. Covered in a thin layer of dust/dirt with included rusted screws and cloth wire it has the worn mojo I was looking for. Install went smoothly, the pre-soldered grounding wire on the baseplate was welcome as was the length of wire included which allowed me to install the pickups with my modded wiring without needing to add any additional. I do wish it came with pickup covers, unfortunately the ones from the CV Jag don't seem to fit flush with the pole pieces, causing them to sit a couple millimeters below the cover instead of flush or sticking through as I would expect, but it could be because it's an Indonesian made instrument instead of an American one as SD lists on their site for compatibility. The tone is still phenomenal and that's really all I needed. I was considering selling my Jaguar before, but these pickups saved it, I really couldn't imagine better ones, just playing chords with a clean tone is therapeutic. I can go from playing lightly with wet effects for the harp/ethereal sound of surf/ambient or stack on overdrive and play grunge. The magnets in these pickups aren't weak either, with all settings/positions the same they were louder than the stock Alnico 5's I had before. 6 months ago I thought pickups couldn't possibly make a tremendous difference, I have changed my mind. Can't think what else to say, if you like the way they sound in the demo you will like the way they sound even in Fender's most affordable Jag offering.

Antiquity I for Jaguar

Best jag pickups I’ve played yet. I’ve been through just about everything and have never been fully satisfied. These have the most range of frequencies and incredible touch sensitivity. There’s simply more of everything. Very well done!
