Description

We took the noiseless Classic Stack and ratcheted everything up another notch. For the Hot Stack Jazz Bass, we increased the output and thickened up the midrange response, which gives rock tones an added push without getting harsh. The slightly overwound bridge model pairs perfectly with the Hot Stack Jazz Bass neck pickup, for a powerful matched set. This is everything you love about the world-famous Jazz Bass tone, but with more oomph.

(Note: The Hot Stack Jazz Bass is based on the slightly wider American-sized Jazz Bass bridge pickup. If you have a Mexican Standard Jazz Bass, you will likely need to use two neck pickups, as the pickup slots are both neck-sized on that model.)

Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the noiseless Hot Stack for Jazz Bass uses Alnico 5 rod magnets, Forbon flatwork, 4-conductor lead wire, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free operation.

Purchased for a Sire P7

Purchased for a Sire P7 first Gen. Previously I installed a Hot P on this bass and definitely it was in need if a bridge pickup that could go toe to toe with the HotP. Entre the Hot Double Stack. It is amazing the tones at high volume without noise or distortion that this Pickup can handle. Definitely a must for a P/J since the Hot Double Stack J will aid the P Pickup in the Mix

Huge improvement over the stock

Huge improvement over the stock pickups that were in my jazz bass. Put a full set in - well balance with each other and I love the full tone that the added mid-range brings. Easy install as well.

Excellent for PJ setup

I have a Shop Floor Custom Shop Hot Stack bridge pickup with no logo in my Jaguar PJ. The build quality is impressive. The STK-J2 has a wide frequency response, and unlike other PJ bridge pickups, this pickup evenly matches the Precision pickups' output. The frequency response is flat and wide with no presence peaks across the spectrum. The Hot Stack - STK-J2 sounds significantly better than the Fralin +5% overwind it replaced. Now, there are plenty of mix options with the Precision pickup. I highly recommend this pickup. Especially for a PJ bass.

A Jazz bridge position pickup hot enough to work in a PJ bass.

The Fralin 5% overwind was too weak, but this Hot Stack Jazz bridge pickup evenly matches the Precision pickups' output on my on my Jaguar PJ. Tons of new possibilities. Flat frequency response.

I really like these pickups

I really like these pickups a lot. I put them in a Seymour Duncan traditional series jazz bass. This bass has an active nordstrand preamp with a passive switch. Nice and fat sounding and with no noise. Sounds great passive or active.

Hot Stack Jazz Noiseless in Yamaha TRBX174 Bass is Perfect.

I took out the noisy single coil jazz pickup in my Yamaha TRBX174 passive bass, but left in the great sounding P bass humbucker. The Hot Stack Jazz Bass noiseless Bridge pickup is a perfect fit, sounds great, and is quiet. No hum. Love it. BUT YOU MUST REVERSE THE GREEN AND BLACK WIRES on this pickup due to phase cancellation with the stock pickup. This is stated on the installation sheet in the package, but is in tiny print. So, Green wire to the pot, then the Black and Bare wires to ground on the back of the pot. STK-J2 Bridge is a great replacement for any 2 pickup PJ bass that is similar to the Yamaha 174. Very happy with this setup, Thanks Duncan.

Great Improvement to my Squier Affinity PJ bass

Easy drop in, easy to wire up and solder. The stock jazz pickup was buzzing and had some other noise. Complimented the stock P pickup and, made the whole setup sound Great! Couldn't be more satisfied. Great product! Thanks SD.

Awesome combo...Pickups

I use the STK-J2 Bridge with the SPB-1 and wow what a fantastic setup...I also use the Stk-j2b with the SBP-4 and that sounds great for a totally different tone. (I run both pickups on and full tone. WOW Thank you for fantastic models of pickups!

Hot Stack for Jazz Bass

Noiseless replacement pickups are absolutely essential for a Jazz Bass. The Hot Stack coils have a little extra "punch" in the low midrange as compared to the stock pickups. Perfectly sized to fit the existing cutouts with no modification.

Pairs with SPB-1

I got this to pair with an SPB-1, which has a growl that I love. PJ configurations are tricky because the pickups are so weirdly different. The Hot Stack really brings it, and I can confidently recommend this pairing. The level of the two pickups is practically even, and together they make a really great full tone. Separate, they each have their distinctive sounds, and they're both humbucking! So all around it's an awesome dynamic duo for passive PJ enthusiasts like me.
