Description

The idea was to create a pickup that had the articulate airiness of an old-school P.A.F., but with more growl and sizzle. We designed slightly overwound coils paired with an alnico 5 bar magnet and a mix of pole pieces that included one row of standard adjustable screws and one row of shorter Allen head screw. What you get is a big, open tone, with a treble emphasis that keeps your pick attack sounding articulate at any level of distortion.

Originally designed as a bridge pickup, the 10k Screamin’ Demon also works great as a neck pickup when paired with a high output humbucker in the bridge. Pair the Screamin’ Demon bridge with the 59 or Jazz model neck humbuckers for a great 80s setup.

Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the Screamin’ Demon medium output humbucker pickups use an alnico 5 bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, are vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance, and are available in standard humbucker or Trembucker spacing.

This pickup is exactly what

This pickup is exactly what I was looking g for. Purchased it based in reviews and the confidence that George Lynch wouldn't put his name on a pickup that didn't deliver. Totally satisfied and will likely but another.

Great Neck Pickup

I had been searching for a neck pickup to match the Alternative 8 in the bridge of a custom build but none of the dedicated neck models were quite what I was looking for. When I read about the Screamin' Demon being used as a neck pickup on the SD forum I decided to give it a shot. Bingo, it's the perfect mix of output, clarity and punch and matches with the Alt 8 beautifully. I find that the vintage output neck pickups sound too tame to my ears, even under high gain. This pickup solves that issue, just enough output to keep up with a high output bridge pickup but it still has that classic neck pickup sound with more punch. Previously I tried a Jazz (Really nice but too polite) and an SH-6N (had more output but didn't have the typical neck position tone I like), the Screamin' Demon is just right, highly recommended if your looking for a great neck pickup with clarity and some extra punch.

amazing pickup

just bought one of these off ebay and it sounds amazing! exactly what I was hoping for, it can be very bluesy smooth/deep in clean but when you use lots of distortion it screams and has the EVH brown tone kinda sound, so great!

Screaming’ Demon is the best!

Best pickup I’ve ever bought. One of my favorite artist…George Lynch. Put it in my Jackson Dinky (my first real guitar) sounds wonderful. It’s like a ‘59 but more growl! It has that ‘59 twang, but It has more lows and highs. Mids are diminished but reminiscent of the ‘59. I judge all pick-ups against this humbucker. Never sounds bad.

My FAVORITE Pickup... Period

The pickup wasn't what I was expecting when I purchased it many years ago from the guitar shop, so it sat on me shelf for some years. Fast forward to last year and a project guitar I was working on needed a bridge pickup so I put this in. It was HSS and I only had 250k potentiometers. Well let me tell you it blew me away, especially at high Gain. No harshness on the top end at all.. I don't ever have to adjust the tone knob or switch to neck pickup. This thing just sings!

This pickup has a great tone that is throaty with some bite.

The Screaming Demon isn't a high output pickup. It does work extremely well with low gain and high gain amplifiers. This is one of my favorite pickups and can get the bluesy sweetness in a clean amplifier. The sounds has a snappy high end. The medium output doesn't muddy an amplifier and Iginla a high gain amplifier, your tone is clear and articulate through single note runs or chords. The magnetic pull from the Alnico 5 magnets doesn't kill your sustain. The strings resonate
