At Seymour Duncan, we LOVE pickups. We’re continually designing, and voicing new models for ourselves and our customers. Over the years, that’s a lot of pickups. Even so, we know it can be hard to pick the perfect pickup, so since 1979, way back when there were just written descriptions, our remedy has been the 21 Day Real World Exchange.

Buy the pickups you think will be the best and go crazy: play it, feel it, and whatever else you can legally do! If its not right for you don’t sweat it. Just give us a call, let us know what you liked and didn’t like, and well work together to swap the pickup for something that will blow your mind.

If you’re not 100% pleased with the sound of your Seymour Duncan pickups, you can exchange them for up to 21 days after purchase. This offer applies to any pickups bought from an authorized Seymour Duncan dealer in the USA.

Seymour Duncan will not accept an exchange if we determine the pickup has been abused. The warranty is void if there have been any physical modifications to the pickup, such as changing the original wire set-up, removing tape from the pickup, or damaging the bottom plate in any way. Pickups with excessive cosmetic damage cannot be returned. Any factory-defective product will be repaired or replaced at our discretion. Other restrictions may apply.

Original equipment pickups sold as “stock” on any guitar or bass are not eligible for exchange or warranty repair. Please contact the instrument manufacturer for questions involving returns or repairs.

Each return must have a Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number, and must be shipped freight prepaid to us with the RMA number clearly marked on the outside of the shipping box. Any packages shipped to Seymour Duncan without a visible RMA number will be refused and returned freight-collect to the sender. The original dated sales receipt must accompany each return, and it must show that the pickup was purchased from an authorized USA Seymour Duncan dealer within three weeks from the issuance of the RMA number. Please allow up to three weeks for your return to be processed.


1. CALL Seymour Duncan Customer Service at (805) 964-9610 to request an RMA number. Our business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM PST.

2. PACKAGE the pickup(s) securely and write the RMA number on the outside of the box.

3. ENCLOSE the original, dated store receipt.

4. SHIP your return to:

We recommend using a shipping service that allows you to track your return so you can confirm we received your package.

The 21-day return policy applies to pickups only. Seymour Duncan stompboxes carry a one-year limited warranty. See the product manual for details. You can view the product manuals online via each stompbox’s product page.

If you purchased your pickup or stompbox outside the USA, please contact your local distributorfor the specific warranty details in your country. If you live outside the USA and purchased your product from a USA dealer, you can return it to the USA dealer, most likely at your expense. The dealer will return it to us. We’ll re-ship it to the dealer at our expense, but you’ll probably have to pay return shipping from the dealer to you. The moral of this story: Support your local dealer!
