I’ve been using this pickup for 4 years now. I gotta say it works super well with my low tune baritone I started running this pickup normal in series but later by mistake love it in parallel for low tune e-e or even b-b this helps so much gives it a single coil like sound but stays hum free the clarity of every note shines hard. I definitely would recommend this pickup to anyone tuning low.

I had this Duncan Distortion put in my new Schecter omen extreme FR. The stock bridge pickup was muddy and too bassy for me. I've always wanted a Seymour Duncan pickup in one of my guitars. This guitar was my 80's metal guitar. It has the look and feel just not the sound. After the change I was just amazed in the difference. I played it through my Marshall MG15FX. I played it clean and was pretty good but when I turned up the distortion it was night and day. If you want some heavy crunch for Metallica, Anthrax this is it. It sounded great by itself but I flipped to the clean channel and ran a behringer eq and a behringer ultra metal distortion pedal.. Talk about heavy metal sounding.. Now this guitar growls with power chords and sings with lead notes. Just roll down the volume to get a rock tone. If you're annoyed with your guitars sound and want a serious upgrade I highly recommend the Duncan Distortion. Robert

I have not yet installed my Duncan Distortion, I have had one in the past and dug it so much it changed me to Duncan only. This will be paired with a 59 in the neck.Shopping packaging and shipping were all top notch I really dig the website. Duncan Rocks!

Every guitar I have (entirely too many) ends up with Seymour Duncans in them sooner than later. It's beyond my favorite pickups. If I'm looking at another guitar to buy, first thing I check is the pickups, if they're not SD's , I add the price of new SD pick ups to my cost , because I know I'm changing them to some SD pickups absolutely

To say these Duncan Distortions breathed new life into my Gibson Flying V Traditional Pro would be a gross understatement. I love stock 496/500's but this particular model came with the '57 Classic and Burstbucker 3 combo. They were so weak sounding and these Distortions absolutely SCREAM. The lows of clear and thick and the high are piercing and crystal clear. These will be my go to pickups from now on. Oh, and the black powder coated covers go perfectly with my black out customization too.

This is the 5th Duncan Distortion I have bought and installed in my guitars. It is my favorite humbucker for the bridge position for my guitars. I love these pickups! They have a great heavy crunch and the leads just scream all while being very clean and quiet when you want them to be.

Had this Les Paul for 22 years and happy enough with the 489t/490r stock pups. But I got an itch to try something new and the Duncan Distortion kept popping up. There are some frequencies that Im missing after spending so much time with the stock set, but the Duncan Distortion has a tight chug, less noise, better cut, and more focused. Paired it with a 59 bridge in the neck position and couldn't be happier.

A very good bridge pickup especially for a Les Paul type guitar. Cleared up a lot of the overly dark nature of mine and now the guitars a certified rock machine! (Side tip from me: if you want a great quick tone change I recommend flipping the pickups like I did, really brings out the mids in them.)

I always change out my pickups from most guitars I get. I got the Duncan Distortion when I found a tele type guitar at the pawn shop and wanted to beef it up. It was great, but the guitar ended up being way too heavy so I rarely ever played it. I took the Duncan out before I sold it and I literally just put it in a Music Man Cutlass today. Oh, wow!! What a difference. What a nice, fat sound. The clarity is so nice, even distorted. All day, I've been playing it through my tube amp with the gain only on about 4 and it's smokin'! When I got the Cutlass, I wanted it to be one of my bluesy guitars. The Duncan dialed down a bit fits the bill. I put a Duncan Vintage Rails in the neck position and, well, I'll do a review on that. But, this guitar is so much nicer now. Cranked up a bit (gain still on 4), the distortion is incredible. I'm off tomorrow and will be checking out some metal sounds I can get with it. I already know it's going to be insane. This pickup really did breathe new life into this guitar.

Man I love this pickup! Totally transformed my Ibanez Prestige S2075FW into a much nicer sounding guitar. Added a coil split to the volume knob and I was very pleased with how nice the coil split sounds.

I have an Epiphone Les paul custom. The stock "probuckers" just weren't doing it for me. I'm far more aggressive than what the stock pickups provided. I had then decided to try a JB that I had laying around in the bridge. It was a definite improvement but I needed more of a cutting sound. Luckily the Duncan Distortion provided exactly what I needed. The clean tone is surprisingly clean although cleans can get distorted easily with this pickup depending on the picking style etc. However, this pickup excels with Distortion. I got the pickup with a gold cover and the pickup looks like it came with the guitar. Installation was the same as any other Duncan pickup and easy. My only complaint is the shipping seemed slow for some reason. I got free shipping which is a plus but prepare to have a wait depending on where you are. Mine took a week and a day with UPS sure post which hands the item over to the postal service for final delivery. If you want the pickup sooner, go with paid shipping. Other than this 10 stars.

You products are great. Always have been and always will be. The shipping method to get it to me (in Alaska) is the fail point. It has been in transit to me for the last 10 days. I would like to have more of a choice. I am willing to pay the added cost. It is your superior products I am after and the shipping is an incidental cost.

Had been enjoying my pearly gates bridge for about 18 months but my tastes have been changing for less drives on my board and more pickup and amp gain. This is a great pickup and im really glad i chose it. Not too much mids but more power than my the PG had and it cleans up well with the guitars volume knob. In 2017 PRS S2 Vela

The SD Distortion is amazing. I could instantly tell when I replaced my stock pickup that it had a way better bottom end and the highs were more articulate. I could tune to drop A and the notes still sounded clear and heavy! The parts shipped the day after my purchase and arrived on time. Overall very satisfied with my purchase.

It may not be for everyone but I absolutely love the distortion for heavy metal riffs. Have the 7 and 6 string versions. Works great for down tunings as well.

I love the SH-6. I have them in both of my main guitars in the bridge position. It has bite from the pick attack without being rude. I find BNP to be over the top and not organic sounding, kinda like EMG... but the Duncans are stronger than DiMarzio, which I find to be too polite. I first heard Keith Merrow play through it years ago and I was hooked. I’m an old school metal player, all Mesa, Ibanez, love the TriAxis tone, etc etc. if you have similar taste, you owe it to yourself to check out this pickup.

While I have not yet installed the pickup I just purchased ( it will be used in the neck position in the alder guitar on the left, I know it will be awesome. I built 5 guitars in 2020, my silver linings in a rough year. They all have SD pickups in them. Rock on!

I have this in a Trembucker version for a Ibanez Jem Junior because the stock pickups were good but did not have enough "chug" and clarity. I would say that this pickup sounds better than a .....dare I say it.......JB! This has amazing clarity, punch, crazy sustain and is super balanced with bass/mids/treble!!!! If you want a super versatile pickup for Metal, Rock and even Blues; then get this right now!!! You will not be disappointed!!!!

This pickup changed my Les Paul. For years I never enjoyed my Les Paul, despite fitting a JB in the bridge; matching so many of my heroes. Then I went heavy. I fitted a Distortion, loaded gauge 12 strings, and switched from a modelling amp to a tube amp. This pickup growls. With a tube screamer subtly adjusting the tone I sound like Gojira. If you’re into metal, this pickup is awesome!
