Description

All New Look, Same Classic Performance

The Studio Bass Compressor pedal has always been a secret weapon for serious players. Now it’s got the look to match. Same studio-grade performance, bold new retro housing.

The Studio Bass pedal gives you a full spectrum of compression, from subtle and transparent to tightly tamed dynamics. The 3-position mini-toggle (affecting Full, Mid, or Low frequencies) and blend knob put you in complete control by letting you mix uncompressed tones alongside the affected sound. Blend in your unadulterated clean signal, dial in enhanced mids to cut through the densest mix, or fatten up your low-end growl until it fills the room.

Find that sweet spot where harder picking lifts your dry signal right up above the compression, or blend in just a whisper of your original tone. Pick players, slap stylists, and fingerstyle technicians will all find something to love here. And when you need to step out front, there’s enough clean headroom to use it as a boost for solos.

Run it at the front of your chain, leave it on all night, and let it do the heavy lifting. The Studio Bass Compressor. Built to perform and wrapped in a vintage-inspired housing that looks as good on your board as it sounds through your amp.

User Guide

Sample Settings

  • Subtle Compression

Add just a little compression to your overall tone to even things out.
  • High Compression

A large amount of compressed tone mixed with very little dry signal. Great for smoothing out the dynamics in slap-style playing and keeping the pulled notes from becoming too harsh and overbearing.
  • Sharp, Fast

Add a little sparkle and punch to your top end without sacrificing any of your low end tone!
  • Reggae

Give your sound that fat bottom end you need to have for Reggae, Funk and World music.
  • Round and Fat

Great for ballads, Motown, and anytime you want a vintage tone with a nice even amount of top, mid, and bottom.
  • Punchy Rock

Add an aggressive midrange punch to your overall tone while maintaining a fat bottom end.

Seymour Duncan Studio Bass Comp/Limiter

I purchased this new several years ago. Best I ever owned. Easy to use, noiseless, very effective. I have Seymour Dun pickups on all my Fender basses… love the sound, like Gender but better.

Just the Thing

My quest for compression never seems to end. After having settled on a VCA comp from another builder, I discovered they had some unsavory views. I went optical for awhile, but always found dialing in unity hard. This comp did the trick. Its ultra quiet, colors my tone in a way I love, and is versatile. One thing I didn't like about the optical compressors I tried is that they seemed to do one thing well, but couldn't cover the needs of a player who plays in different bands, each completely different from the next. I have SD pups in my electric and always have. This is a company and a pedal that mean quality.

Studio Bass is perfect solution

I have owned several different bass comp limiters over the decades, but thus one is the holy grail. Great price, super easy to use, great tones. Solid 5 stars.I own 7 Fender basses and they all have SD pickups. I’ve been a SD user for about 40 years!!!
