Description

Take your guitar to the center of the earth with the Nazgûl and Sentient high output passive humbucker pickups. The Nazgûl combines a large ceramic magnet with custom winding specs. The result is a perfect blend of note articulation, saturation, pick attack, and one of the most brutal chugs you’ll ever hear from a humbucker. It has incredible harmonic content across all frequency ranges, and an insanely tight bass response. The Nazgûl has a seriously aggressive high gain sound that is lively, yet completely controllable.

 

The Sentient neck delivers a balanced, versatile tone that fits right between our iconic ’59 and Jazz model neck pickups. You’ll get pristine cleans, and fluid leads under high gain. The Sentient is a very articulate vintage output pickup with great dynamic response and a wide harmonic range. It works great for low tunings in all humbucker-equipped guitars.

 

Hand built in our Santa Barbara, CA factory, the Nazgûl and Sentient both feature a large ceramic and alnico 5 bar magnet respectively, nickel silver bottom plate, and 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options. These high output passive humbucker pickups are also available in both 6-string and 7-string passive mount sets, and are vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.

A huge step up

Some folks would call this sacrilegious, but I replaced the stock pickups in my guild polara S100 with these and now I have my axe of doom. I love these pickups. They sound better than I imagined and have a nicer eq response than the guild humbuckers and can still sound with any type of music I play.

First time swapping out stock

First time swapping out stock pickups, and I've gotta say these have made a HUGE difference! The differences between the two pickups are night and day, giving me far more reason to utilize the pickup selector switch than I've ever done before. I'd say more on these, but I don't think I could properly articulate it since I'm a drummer that plays guitar. I'm still figuring things out. They are definitely working for the metal sound I'm going for, though.

Nazgul/Sentient 7 string set

I have played for 29 years and tried several brand and models of pickups. These sound amazing regardless of guitar wood, 6 or 7 string, and standard or low tunings. I've put these pickups through tests of several different styles and they sound great even with single coil and mixed tones. My huge problem with this set is it only comes in black. I tried to custom order some colored pickups and Seymour Duncan was not able to help me. I would give all 5 stars if this hadn't happened. Overall, I highly recommend no matter what style you play. This tone will sell you on them day 1. I hope you like black pickups though. 😂
