I played a gig with the JB pickup installed and got tons of compliments and people asking what I was doing differently. I just pointed at the pickup. The difference in tone was amazing. I had to turn the gain back on all amp settings in my helix. Tone for days. I definitely recommend this pickup.

Had a strat I wanted to upgrade and since I've been into Van Halen I repainted it to look like the frankenstrat. The actual practical change was replacing my bridge pickup with the JB humbucker for a HSS layout. Super versatile guitar now, the humbucker works perfect for all the rock/metal I could ever want to play, highly recommend. Clean tone is also so well rounded, very happy with this purchase!

I dont use very many pedals so I like the bridge pickup to be hotter than the neck so it wont drop in volume. I play through a Deluce and a Princeton on around 7. . Im a traditional Blues-Country, R&B guy. and full time pro since 1971. . . IF I need more ill step on a OCD pedal. Never had a bad sound from this pickup. I have one in my SG and Les Paul Standard and HH Tele. . . It roars. . .

The JB (SH-4) along with the Distortion (SH-6) pickups are the best I've ever used. Massive upgrade over the stock pickups I used to have in my budget guitar.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about the JB across all genres of guitar driven music. It just works, it is either for you, or not for you...but most people love it. There is a reason 3 of my guitars have JBs in the bridge.

I’ve been playing since 1980 and play ZZ Top, AC/DC, Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy, Malmsteen, Bon Jovi, LZ, to assorted country artists and our own and the JB just gets it done. whether high intense rhythms, searing solos, chicken picken and soft clean tones, the JB with coil tap gives the tones I was searching for. I discovered the JB in 2003 and now have the JB in my Les Paul, Ibanez RG’s, Ibanez Iceman, Schecter Hellraiser, ESP LTD EC-1000, PRS Custom 24 and it just works.

Installed the Jazz (neck) and JB (bridge) pickups in a 1983 Kramer Pacer series guitar, and what a difference it made. The guitar originally had Schaller pickups. Along with the SD pickups, installed push-pull pots that give me split coil, phase and parallel/series switching. Thanks to Jeff C in support for the great help he gave with wiring questions. The pickups made a big difference in the sound I'm getting from my Kramer, I love them. Now I'm picking up my Kramer every time I play and giving my Strat a rest. Would highly recommend these pickups.

I have been changing all my bridge pickups out with JB’s! The pickup just has a tone that does it for me.

I bought a kramer pacer classic with this in the bridge and man! The versatility this pickup has is incredible. Nice bright cleans and aggressive attack on high gain. It does exactly as says, rock, hard rock, punk rock, metal esp. from the 80s. I would totaly recommend this pickup to anybody looking for versitility and classic tones!

Awesome time and output. Just what I needed to wake up my old Ibanez.

I have it on a LP in the neck position. It's definitely hot for this position (can be managed with pickup height for your preference) but it sure sounds warm and full bodied. Nice chimey overtones and note separation. Nice low end response too. It's great if you're a tube amp person, for dynamic attack allowing clean tones with light attack and variable distortion with more intensity. Very pleased.

I have a 1997 heritage h157 that had schaler pickups in it. I decided to go with the jb in the bridge and jazz in the neck. Wow what a difference!!!!!!! But you can’t go wrong with pickups that the big names have been using for 40 years!!!!! Definitely worth it, will be using Seymour Duncan again in the future!!!!!

you guys have always been very helpful when we had a question on pickups and configurations and wiring and just all around professional people . there is a lady there in particular ,unfortunately im forgetting her name at the moment ,but she is very cool and knowlegeable. you guys are the best and its really simple to see why your so successful in addition to having the best pickups made today . Back in the day , I would say when Dmarrzio was hot probably early in the 80s , I was always a seymour duncan ,and since all those guys have converted to Seymour Duncan . I had put a set of 1/4pounders in a telecaster when hardly anyone knew the exised and they always wondered why my guitar sounded so cool . I wish I could take credit , but it was your pickups . Well thats enough rattling on my part ,because I think we are clear on what type of pickups I like and this has been passed on to my sons . Thank you and keep up the cool ways you guys have

Love the JB, been using it for a few decades! Perfect blend of crunch, articulation and sizzle. Highly sensitive to playing dynamics and the guitar it's in but retains its basic tonal signature. I currently have 3 guitars with JB's in the bridge and they all have their own distinct identity. It's a great pickup for anything from low-high gain crunch with cut to screaming leads. Cleans up respectable too!

I recently ordered a Seymour Duncan SH-4 (Trembucker) pickup. It was going into an Ibanez Prestige guitar. It has an Edge Pro tremolo, I believe. It's a floating tremolo. So I was pretty sure I wanted the trembucker. So I called Seymour Duncan. Within seconds, I was speaking to a representative. He told me if the bridge was a certain width, go with a trembucker. So I said, "Hold on. The guitar is right here." I told him the measurement and he said get the trembucker. Got the pickup and installed it, reverse zebra. The poles line up perfectly with the strings. It sounds amazing. I wanted that Jake E. Lee, Warren D. sound, that classic 80s sound. I couldn't be happier with the whole transaction.

great quality and classic sound

I bought the JB Model from Seymour Duncan about 25 years ago for an electric Yamaha 1500 double horn and was impressed with tone improvement but, I was using solid state amps at the time. Since then I have started playing more and become a lover of tube amps. I have also realized I can buy a well built and crafted guitar for under $600. The problem is that they often have inexpensive, tone deaf pickups. I have learned that I can buy a new guitar that feels and plays right for me and then install a pickup/s of tone choice made by expert pickup manufacturers like Seymour Duncan. I have also purchased the Jazz Humbucker, '59 Humbuckers (mini and full), and single coils for Tele and Strat styles and the S.D. pickups always deliver! I now have about a dozen guitars with expected tone and balance pickup upgrades without having to go in search of vintage guitars in the thousands of dollars price range.

Best pickup out there!

Wow, what a powerhouse! Clean and crisp but takes distortion very well. I put them in my Charvel SoCal and it makes the guitar come alive. Snappy and bright in the double coil setting, very funky when coil tapped. This was exactly what I was looking for. Also. I should mention that the gentleman who helped me on the phone to decide on all the right options was extremely helpful.

Outstanding pickup. I needed a humbucker that wouldn’t get super muddy under high gain. The JB fits that bill nicely but is also versatile enough that I can turn the gain down and play country or even Gospel with it. It’s great. This is my first experience with Seymour Duncan pickups, and I will say that based on the performance of this pickup and the ‘59 I’ve also bought, that this will be my standard pickups configuration moving forward for my humbucker-equipped guitars. Love them.

Perfect fit in my Shecter Banshee Elite. Direct mounted with no issues. I'm very satisfied with the clarity and tone with this. Paired with '59 neck.

I’m not much of a guitarist. I was a sound guy for 30plus years and this is the best sounding pickup out there. Swapped out the pickups in my cheap LP copy and the tone heavens opened up. There is no other like it.

The JB is my favorite pickup and just has "the" sound I love while showcasing the tone of the guitar. It can do anything and sound great. This is my 4th guitar I installed the JB.

In my 35 years of playing and many guitars later they all end up with the JB in the bridge!! I have tried and toned chased my entire life BUT there is not a more perfect pickup in every way than the JB . "My opinion" I have tried EVERYTHING!! the JB can make make a slab of plywood sound awesome.. 🤘🤘

Replaced the stock pickups in my EB Music Man Sabre with a JB/Jazz set and couldn’t be happier. The JB was just what I was looking for. Aggressive in a perfect way when you dig in, but backs off when you do. Very responsive and always articulate with good note separation. This set makes a great alternative to my PAF+ equipped guitars. I can now see why it’s so popular and is now the benchmark for me.

Still adjusting my amp settings to get the best sound out of this new pickup, but so far I really like what I'm hearing. I was a bit worried about the output difference between this (rear) pickup and the front and middle pickups, but so far it has not been an issue at all.

Awesome sounding pickup. Great snarl and tone with distortion. When paired with the Jazz, has a great spank. One of the best sounding pickups I own and my Sterling Stingray is now one of my favorite guitars.

Exactly what I needed.

An absolutely wonderful pickup. I installed the 7 string JB model in the bridge position of a Warmoth 7 string guitar build. Powerful output. A nice solid low end, responsive and harmonically rich midrange, and really cutting, edgy highs. Rolling back the volume knob on the guitar a little cleans up the signal nicely without losing too much definition. I wired it up with a coil split also, it really gains the bell like clang when split. It's such a hot pickup that when coil split it retains a pretty solid signal. Seems to be quite the versatile pickup, tone wise...it's been pretty easy to dial in a variety of tones that would work for nearly any genre. Can't really go wrong with this one!

Just installed a SH-4 JB humbucker in the bridge position of my 2007 Fender Strat. Wow, what an amazing sound! It's like night and day. The stock Fender humbucker is inferior to the JB! I'm so thankful that I decided to go with the JB. Very versatile pickup, great for blues to metal.

Sweet rounded tone with a nice upper presence shimmer like a good PAF, but with gobs of sustain and quicker transient response. Perfect for everything from hard rock, to fusion and quite a bit more actually. This pickup (bridge position is the one I got) is a classic that Will never be out of style IMHO! Just a great solid hotrod sweet tone perfect for a lot of styles..

I play telecasters and this fit right into the bridge position of my Deluxe as a replacement for the Fender Shawbuckers. I tried to put the ‘59 in my neck, but found out that the ‘59 was a long leg … so I’m ordering a Jazz as the replacement for my neck. Had to talk to customer service to return the ‘59 and those guys were very knowledgeable with regards to the products and their tones. Every guitar I own has Seymour Duncans.

Helping a friend with a STRAT-HSS project so the choice was easy since the JBs been my favorite for many metal years. i'll be back soon to order a humbucker for my own blues project....something between a PAF and a JB that cleans up good when rolling down the volume....thank you for your great products....RIC

Massive upgrade over the stock Squier pickup. Has a much more twangy sound, and since I wired it up to be able to split into a single coil, I can get much closer to a traditional Telecaster sound than I could originally. This pickup has great articulation and is very versatile.

First, I love Duncan's 59 model; the benchmark. That said, the JB has a bit more push. I put the 59 and JB in an Ibanez 2HB ax, with the JB in the neck (got the idea from someone else). I like to play lead with the neck and rhythm with the bridge. It is working well for me. BB

I have been using the JB/Jazz sets in my Jackson HH 7 string guitars and also a couple of 6 stringers (an HH Soloist and a Les Paul DC) for the past 5 years. Because I require versatility and love both clean and high gain tones, I also installed series-single-parallel switches for more variety and good treble response. The JB/Jazz set gives me really chewy distortion (bridge in series) and crystalline clean (bridge+neck single or parallel). I also installed a JB and 2 Vintage Rails in an HSS Steinberger GR4. All my guitars with Duncan pickups deliver excellent tones and expressive nuance.

This thing sounds great, it opened up the sound cage in my guitar. It was a cheaper Gibson so I’m glad I could get more out of it.

What is the difference between JB SH-4 and TB-4 ???

I wanted to have a better tone in my squier strat, so I decided to change the bridge pickup (the one I use the most). I bought this pickup because is a classic and a lot of people recommended to me, and I finished choosing it over the Dimarzio super distortion, that was my first option. I gotta say that I'm not disappointed of choosing this pickup over the Dimarzio, because it's amazing. It has a lot of sustain, nice and warm clean tones and it just screams with a nice distortion pedal, and it also has crazy harmonics. You can get pretty close to early Van halen tone with this pickup, but it also can help you get any tone you want, because it's the most versatile Humbucker ever. Really happy costumer

I installed this PUP in the bottom of my 2012 Gibson Les Paul Traditional, because the original 57+ wasn't cutting it for me. Now this ebony beast rocks! The speed knobs make it look more like the ebony Les Paul Standards from the late 80s/early 90s.

I've played A LOT of pick ups in my 50+ years of guitar. Simply put, this is the best sounding, most versatile bridge pick up I've ever used. If you have only one axe, and you need it to do a bunch of things, I recommend the JB head and shoulders above any other pick up. Use the 4-conductor wiring to cancel a coil for single coil sound, and you've found your pick up.

My RG represents the bottom of the Ibanez barrel. It is fantastic in so many ways but was very lacking in especially in lower tones. This pickup delivered so much more than it promised. My cheapo model RG now rivals my more expensive guitars for sound.

I have the SD JB in a Epiphone SG and a Ibanez Jem Junior. I can see why this has a great reputation. Great humbucker with nice output, very articulate and very nice sustain!!!

With a JB in the neck position and a 59 in the bridge position in your LP you will have the best sounding Gibson and Fender guitar in one instrument,with no muddy tone from the neck,this is tone to the max.

I have been playing guitar for over 10 years and no matter how many different styles or genres I play the JB will always fit. Sounds nice and thick in the full humbucking position, but when split it can do perfect twangy single coil tones. This pickup also cuts through the a mix extremely well and is just an all around great pickup. Really cannot say enough good things about it.Try it out, and keep featherin it!
