Description

The Woody XL (SA-3XL) is a passive, noiseless, magnetic soundhole pickup with adjustable pole pieces that delivers a full spectrum acoustic tone that is great for everything from jangly strumming, to quiet fingerstyle playing. It gives you a great balance that combines the fat bottom of the HC version, with the sparkly top end of the SC version all with no 60-cycle hum. The individually adjustable pole pieces enable you to really fine tune your sting-to-string balance.

All of the Woodys are available in our custom maple, walnut or black stained housing, and are double potted to keep them resistant to feedback. It mounts instantly into your soundhole, with no modification of any kind needed to the guitar and can easily be removed at a moments notice. It comes with a 14-foot low capacitance, studio quality cable that will plug directly into your favorite amp, PA, direct box, or console. Fits all standard soundholes (3.75″ (94mm) to 4.0″ (100mm). Great for all standard types of steel string acoustic guitars.

NOTE this is a magnetic pickup, and will not work with nylon stringed instruments. Available colors: Maple, Walnut, or Black.

I recently purchased your Woody H-C and would like to comment on a couple of concerns. 1.st you have no information documented to help me in my decision of whether to purchase or not as my interest was to use your Woody H-C on my Guild D1212 and wasn't sure if your system would work with a 12 string. Thanks to Patrick @ Sweetwater I hopefully took the chance and WOW! The Woody H-C is truly a remarkable devise that makes my 12 string acoustic sound great, each string is clearly pronounced through the amp speaker regardless of whether I finger pick, flat pick or strum. You should really add your products full capabilities in your ad's. 2.nd the cable is way too long 18" ~ 24" with a 1/4" female would be better. There is too much stress on the pickup in the sound hole from the weight of the cable pulling down so the pickup doesn't stay vertical. Also it would be better for transporting in a case or gig bag with out having to remove the pickup each time or risk damaging the guitars finish. 3.rd your cable protrudes 90 degrees out from the pickup which interferes with my lower E string when I allow it to be relaxed with a normal curvature. I'm forced to put tension on the cable wrapping it around that the back and tying it to my strap so the string isn't dudded. I realize these are opinions based on my particular application but what would it hurt to investigate such a small modification to enhance such a fine product. Respectfully

The sound is great. I originally ordered the SA-3SC but it created a loud buzzing from amp. This one doesn't do that and works great.

Had to play adjusting the Woody XL a bit to get the sound even, but the instructions indicated how to do so. Nice representative sound quality through the amp of my 70's Martin D-18.

The pickup is well-made. I

The pickup is well-made. I appreciate the adjustable polls and the generous cable. This is my first attempt to attach this kind of pickup on a guitar. I know it is a magnetic pickup, not a mic, but to me it does not produce as natural an acoustic guitar sound as I'd hoped for on my Taylor.
