Hello, NYC Bass Pickups

Posted on by Kat King

The NYC Bass pickups are the same thing that we’ve been making for some of the world’s finest handcrafted basses. They each use a dual coil J-type pickup design with a double row of Alnico Pole pieces. The resulting pickups provide a more organic tone and they are very versatile without sacrificing output level and power. They give a very even balanced response up and down the fretboard all without any unwanted noise. They come standard with 4-conductor cable so you can wire them up in multiple configurations:

Parallel: You’ll get a thicker, hum-cancelling single coil sound.

Series: Maximum punch and fullness with hefty output.

Single-coil: You’ll get that true vintage Jazz bass sound.

These soapbar sized pickups are a direct retrofit for those with a bass that uses 4-string EMG® 35 or a 5-string EMG® 40 and are available individually or in a calibrated neck and bridge set. Now available from your favorite Seymour Duncan dealer.

Hi there, I’ve a one pickup bass. Would like opinions on which of the two pups offered would suit, for a slighly higher output p-bass sound; a neck or bridge version of the NYC4?

      – and – in the video above, why not include a demo of each pickup individually??
