Description

On March 28, 1968, Jimi Hendrix asked a young Seymour W. Duncan to walk his guitar up onstage at his show at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. That Strat was loaded with pickups Seymour had wound just for Jimi, and that unforgettable night would set in motion Seymour’s future – and his legacy almost five decades later. Now you can be a bit closer to Jimi’s world with our Jimi Hendrix™ Signature Loaded Stratocaster Pickguard.

The Jimi Hendrix Signature Loaded Pickguard houses those pickups in a pre-loaded 3-ply white pickguard and is available with either a standard-angle bridge pickup route or a Voodoo route (reverse-angle bridge route).

Like Jimi’s music, the Jimi Hendrix™ Signature Strat Set pickups have their roots in the traditional but with an eye on the future. Each is custom wound for a richer, melodic tone. The bridge model has an aggressive attack that cuts through while staying true to his iconic lead tone. The neck pickup sounds thick and full and is great for chord work, bluesy melodies, double-stops and Jimi’s signature hybrid chord/melody style. And in the in-between positions, there’s plenty of that classic Strat ‘quack.’

To help you to get even closer to Jimi’s earth-shattering tone, each pickup is made with a reverse magnet stagger to capture the effect of playing a right-handed guitar upside-down and restrung for a lefty. The Jimi Hendrix Signature Loaded Pickguard comes packed with a little bit of history as well! Each box will come with a memorabilia booklet of Seymour’s experience with Jimi, as well as a Jimi Hendrix sticker from that era. The 3-ply white pickguard features 250K pots, a 5-way pickup selector switch and .047 caps. The pickup covers showcase Jimi’s signature. Please note that the Voodoo style will only fit guitars with either a swimming pool or humbucker route.

The Jimi Hendrix™ Signature Loaded Stratocaster Pickguard is fully authorized by Authentic Hendrix LLC.

These do a thing

I built this guitar and had to replace the pickups due to an issue with the original set. I saw this loader PG and had to try it. Amazing clean and driven tones. Sounds different than my other 5 SC Strats. It’s the guitar I leave on the couch and write with.

Best upgrade ever

I bought the Standard Jimi Hendrix loaded pickguard to put in a 2000 Mexican Strat and wanted to give it a couple of weeks before writing a review. Not wanting to mess with soldering etc myself I brought the whole shebang to the King of the $100 set ups in LA, who fine tuned my strat's action; and installed the pickguard for an additional $20, and I am blown away at how good it sounds. I might have cost almost the price of this guitar when I bought it, but that is no issue, money so well spent! I highly recommend this item, it has turned my run-of-the-mill strat into a electric blues power house and it sounds awesome whether played through a Marshall and some pedals or with Amplitude 5 software and the Jimi Hendrix signature amps. I was getting super bummed that I couldn't quite match the tones of Electric Ladyland with the original pickups; I am bummed no more!

You can't get better than Jimi pickups. Set them in a 1960 Squier Vibe, with Callaham hardware, real bone nut, and Grover mini romantics. Very Quickley became my Guitar of choice.

The Jimi Hendrix pick ups

The Jimi Hendrix pick ups are really great pick ups. Oddly enough I didn't buy these to emulate Hendrix, I bought them solely based on how they sound, period. They are very evenly balanced, very musical, warm neck, quacky middle and bridge is NOT harsh. Beautiful cleans, just the right distorted sounds and they clean up well when rolling the volume back, I mean, what is not to like. I put them in all 5 of my strats. Seymour got this one way right!

Searching for tone: I’ve bought

Searching for tone: I’ve bought all the amps, pedals, multiple strats looking for the Hendrix/Frusciante clean tone. I wish someone would have told me 20 years ago that all I had to do was switch out my pickups for the preloaded Hendrix pick guard. Lord have mercy! This is the SPECIAL SAUCE!! Thank you!

This is great!!

I put this loaded signature Jimi pickguard in my Squier Classic Vibe 70's Stratocaster. Of course I got the Voodoo Slant one. Fortunately, my Squier Strat is routed for a humbucker in the bridge position, so the reverse slant fits. As soon as I hooked it up and put it into my Strat, I strung it up, plugged in and started playing Voodoo Child (Slight Return), I was nailing that Jimi tone! I'm very happy with this. It's a privilege that something you've done for Jimi is now available to us guitarists, especially myself as a huge Jimi fan. Thank you very much, Seymour. You rock!
