Description

Give your Stratocaster the warm bell like chime normally reserved for priceless vintage instruments. The Antiquity Texas Hot Neck produces that familiar, spanky Stratocaster tone, but with a sweet tonal character that only a decades old vintage Stratocaster pickup can produce. Its treble attack is softened by the specially degaussed alnico 2 rod poles, and we inject just the right amount of smoke, sweat, and grime to give them that perfect grit.

The middle pickup in the set is RW/RP for the perfect hum-free cluck in the 2 and 4 positions. The Antiquity Texas Hot Custom Bridge is wound hotter than the neck & middle versions to give your Stratocaster better overall balance and increased versatility without losing the vintage vibe. The spank and sparkle is all there and the increased output provides just enough midrange to help your tone cut through where traditional Strat bridge pickups fall short. Single notes sound robust and chords are harmonically rich. The custom aged alnico 2 rod magnets create less string pull, and that means more sustain.

This pickup set is custom aged both cosmetically and magnetically to simulate the wear and tear that a pickup goes through after decades of playing. Each comes with a specially aged cover, and the individually ground alnico 2 rod poles are specifically calibrated to deliver just the right combination of chime and sweetness. Each Antiquity Texas Hot vintage Stratocaster pickup is lacquered and potted in lamp black paraffin wax, like the originals.

  • All sets, except the Jimi Hendrix signature model, come with a Middle RWRP as the Middle Pickup.
  • Middle RwRP position (reverse wind/reverse polarity) – choose this to have a pickup that will be hum-cancelling with one of our neck or bridge models.

blew me away! I have

blew me away! I have a beautiful 2017 American Professional HSS Strat which loved at the start but then never really bonded with. I have another guitar which tonally I had loved more and got most of the playing time over the years. I recently pulled out the Strat out again and did some testing and listening. The guitar tone (stock v mod) sounded like someone who had a cold.— it sounded dull, muffled and nasally to my ear. I discovered these Antiquities pickups doing some research— heard that tone I was looking for on some videos and ordered them instantly. I installed the neck and middle pickups and holy crap, my guitar sounds amazing now! It's that “hot texas” tone I always had in my head when I think of a Strat. Both pickups are so warm, articulate, bold and rich sounding, and have a great punch. The middle and neck are perfectly balanced, and that in between sound is killer. It’s like I have a brand new guitar— these Antiquities are fantastic! Now I’m rediscovering the great tones I can get and I can’t put the Strat down.

They make for a new guitar...

I bought a used ~2010 deluxe player strat that was stock with the original noiseless pickups. They were....not great would be generous. I installed a set of antiquities and I'm so happy with how this guitar sounds. Everything else about the strat was solid for the price I paid -- neck, bridge, trem etc...nothing fancy but very solid and useable. But it sounded extremely thin and anemic. Now it sounds full, rich, harmonic and powerful. I can hit the SRV and JM tones I love and easily come up with sounds that feel unique and I really enjoy playing. I also notice very little hum, which was a nice surprise. Despite note being noise cancelling, they are much quieter than other strats I've played. Overall, I'm really pleased with these pickups strongly recommend them to anyone trying to put new life into a tired startocaster.

The Antiquity Texas Hot Bridge

The Antiquity Texas Hot Bridge did exactly what I wanted it to do. I know it’s getting to be a cliche, but the stock Strat bridge lacks oomph to drive a tube amp expressively. There’s also the “ice pick” highs, and virtually no mids to speak of. I have a Tele with an Antiquity bridge in it, and I wanted more of what that did. Smoothed the highs without taking any away. More usable mods. Tight bottom. I like a bridge pickup on a Fender that goes “Krang!”. Moreover, Seymour’s site offers reasonable detail as to magnets, windings, DCR, etc. enough that those of us who understand what those things do can make sound purchases. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate that information, with 55 years of playing experience.

Nice Upgrade to my 1990 USA Fender

I replaced my original set and am really impressed. IMO: I keep the tones between 2-4 and only cprsr effect. The bridge PU has a lots of punch and beautiful tone. Pos 2 thins it out a bit but single notes really come thru when combined with chords. Mid PU I like for acoustic type of sound, kind of airy, nice. The neck PU is good to crank up to solo and you can find the EC "woman" tone as well as classic blues. My only regret is the aged covers were not available, they look killer.

THE TONE

Amazing pickup. I have it in a HS configuration with an SH1 and three way switch. Neck position gets me into beautifully glassy strat awesomeness. harmonically rich and expressive. Combined with sh1 split coil in mid position delivers the tone you’d expect from a classic strat in 4th position. Would not change this pick up for anything else..

Night and Day

Updated pickups on my American G&L Legacy. Best decision I have made so far in 2021. The difference is night and day. I will be updating my other guitars and bass with Seymour Duncan.

Brilliant

My 1985 MIJ strat has never sounded so good. I got the texas hot to compliment a twang banger in the bridge and get a tele style feel in the middle position... and it does that perfectly, but i still underestimated the texas hot in the neck. It sounds so full, clear, punchy, and just drives like nothing else in the mids.
