Seymour Duncan Artist and Their Pickups

Jason Hale – Chiodos

Why did you choose Seymour Duncan  pickups, and how did you decide what to choose?
I chose Seymour  Duncan pickups because I used to read a lot of guitar forums. Everyone  talked about how good they were and what their experiences were with different models.
What do you look for in a pickup?
I  look for an even response on each string for the neck and the bridge pickups. For the bridge, I make sure it does chugs well. And for the  neck, I look for a lead tone that kind of sings on the higher notes.
Do you choose pickups primarily for playing live or for  tracking guitars in the studio?
Primarily, I use them live  because they are extremely consisted and sound great.
How  many guitars do you guys generally take on tour with you? Which  guitars?
On tour I take out at least 3 guitars. One of them being  an ESP WA-600 which is the Will Adlers (from Lamb Of God) signature  guitar. I have a SH13 Dimeucker in that one and it sounds incredible. It  has a lot of bite and works perfect with the type of riffs I play. The other two are Les Paul Studios with a JB (nickel cover) in the bridge position.
Chiodos is an American post-hardcore  band from Davison, Michigan named as a tribute to filmmakers Stephen,  Charles, and Edward Chiodo, responsible for the film Killer Klowns  from Outer Space . Jason Hale and Pat McManaman, 2 of founding  members of Chiodos, released their first full-length album, entitled  All’s Well That Ends Well, on July 26, 2005. Their sophomore  album, Bone Palace Ballet, released two years, debuted at number  5 on the Billboard 200  and number 1 on the Independent Albums  chart. Chiodos third studio album, Illuminaudio, released in  October 2010, features their new lead singer Brandon Bolmer, former  vocalist of Yesterdays Rising as well as new drummer, formerly of  Underminded.
