70’s Music Man Alnico 5

We have constructed a Music Man pickup that captures the feel and warmth of the originals. All the vintage ‘70s Music Man tone can be found in this version, which uses oversized alnico 5 rod magnets, together with our unique coil windings, to deliver an extended response at both the treble and bass ends of the frequency spectrum. Compared with the ceramic version, this pickup is both warmer on the bottom, and more detailed on the top. This is the tone that changed funk, rock, and slap forever.

Available in 4 or 5-string configurations and are drop-in replacement pickups for 4 and 5-string Music Man Stingray basses. These pickups may fit into OLP instruments as well, but check the dimensions of our pickup (on this site) against the size of your OLPs pickup slot to be sure. Combine with our Music Man replacement preamp for a complete setup. NOTE: not for use with Music Man basses that have a 3-way blade switch.

Quarter Pound™

The vintage single-coil bass tone of this high output P bass pickup gets a push with more string sensitivity than the Hot model, and a more articulate treble response. The high output coil and quarter-inch diameter pole pieces give you aggressive attack with strong bottom end and lots of mids. It supercharges the traditional single coil with more tonal flexibility. This pickup is a drop-in replacement for any American Standard Single Coil Precision bass.

Rickenbacker Bass

We moved the Rickenbacker bass tone from great to downright amazing! The benefit of the bridge replacement pickup is the added power and sustain for those wanting a bigger push without tonal coloration. We supply a special phenolic mounting ring that goes well with our pickup and will look great on your bass. It is suggested to replace your pickups as a set; however, it is not necessary.

This Rickenbacker neck position replacement adds warmth, clarity, and increases the tonal range over stock a Ric neck pickup. We use two ceramic magnets and special windings to achieve this boost. This pickup is also slightly hotter and warmer than the originals, as well as hum-cancelling.
