Passive Soapbar

Just because your soapbars are passive doesn’t mean your tone has to suffer. Some players want great tone, but simply don’t want to hassle with batteries. We can appreciate that. This passive variation has a moderate output and a slightly more subtle tone than its active brothers. The punch you want is still there, but the feel of the pickup is more organic.

Drop tunings are no problem for these pickups. Even with the lowest of lows, the articulation and low-end clarity shine. If you have a 4-string bass and you’re switching from an active to passive setup, these will drop-in to any EMG 35 sized pickup slot. If you have a 5-string bass, these will drop-in to any EMG 40 sized pickup slot. For optimal tone control, install with our STC-2 or STC-3 preamps.

Apollo Jazz Bass™

The Apollo Jazz Bass pickups have a traditional look, but the punchy and articulate tone they deliver is definitely unique to Seymour Duncan. These pickups utilize a linear humbucking design with two coils that sit next to each other under the cover. The way the coils are wired delivers hum-free performance while creating a sonic fatness and oomph that can often be missing from traditional single coil Jazz bass pickups and are just what you need to take your tone to the next level.

Available in 4-String, and 67/70mm and 70/74mm 5-string configurations. The 67/70mm 5-String pickups use the cover size of traditional 5-string Jazz Basses. If you have an older 5-string Jazz Bass, use the 70/74mm model for the proper fit. All options come with black covers.

Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, Apollo Jazz Bass pickups use hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets, Forbon flatwork, and are vacuum wax potted for squeal free performance.
