First Annual Seymour Duncan Benefit Concert

Steve Miller Band at the Lobero

On July 19, 2011 the legendary Steve Miller Band is coming to Santa Barbara and playing a very special show in the intimate (650 seat) and historic Lobero Theater. Why? For two reasons. First, it’s the Seymour Duncan company’s 35th Anniversary and we wanted to give back to the community with a party that commemorates three and a half decades of helping guitarists find tone that sets them apart. And second, we want to support a very special Santa Barbara-based non-profit called Notes for Notes.

Notes for Notes provides real working music studios for kids to use – for free – for after school music making. Not only do kids come to Notes for Notes and learn how to play instruments, but they learn how to record their music, and how to mix, master, duplicate and promote it. A lot of the Notes for Notes kids are from “at-risk” situations and this provides them with a positive outlet for expression and creativity. Not to mention: how cool it is to be a kid and have a CD with your music on it?

Check out this short video to see what Notes for Notes is doing in our community.

With the proceeds from the Steve Miller Band concert, Notes for Notes is opening facilities in Nashville and beyond. Who knows, a Notes for Notes could be coming to your town to!

Special thanks to Steve Miller, without whom this would not be possible. And thanks also to all the sponsors and the companies and firms that donated products and services to our silent auction. If you want to donate to Notes for Notes, click here.
