KATATONIA

Katatonia (http://www.myspace.com/katatonia) is a band that defines the new wave of Swedish metal.  Their heavy overtones combined with haunting melodic waves of sound are a perfect mix of doom metal and modern rock. Their earlier albums Dance of December Souls and Brave Murder Day have more of a focus on traditional Swedish doom while their first cross over Discouraged Ones and most recent release Night Is The New Day gravitate to more of a modern style with symphonic synths and heavy low tuned guitars. Since Katatonia covers many different styles of music, it is important for Anders to have a wide verity of tonal options at his finger tips. His new signature Mayones guitars will have the AHB-1 Blackouts, TB-6 Duncan Distortions, SHPR-1b P-Rails, and SCR-1n Cool Rails to help him get the dirtiest of the dirty and the cleanest of the clean.  Here is why Anders chose Seymour Duncan:

This year the band is also celebrating their 20th year anniversary and are throwing a few special anniversary gigs in Europe this coming May presented as the ‘Last Fair Day Gone Night – An Evening With Katatonia’ tour 2011.
