Seymour Duncan at NAMM 2016

Yngwie Booth

Last week we packed up and headed down to Anaheim, California for the 2016 Winter NAMM Show. We had a great time meeting with artists, dealers and media, and letting folks try out brand-new gear like the Catalina Dynamic Chorus and Palladium Gain Stage pedals at our pedal testing stations.

This year our booth also featured a display of guitars by some of our OEM partners including Knaggs, D’Angelico, ESP, Schecter, Gibson and more. Our OEM and marketing/social crews also spent a lot of time visiting our partners’ booths to see their latest instruments.

We had lots of great artists performing at our booth, including Dave Nassie – who did an incredible job of presenting the Catalina and Palladium – acoustic virtuoso Don Alder, Nick Johnston with his new Schecter signature model with Antiquity Texas Hot for Strat pickups, Laurence Juber, Guthrie Trapp, Loudness’s Akira Takasaki (who will be honored with a Japan-only Thunder In The East Custom Shop pickup set), Roberto Diana, Adrian Galysh, and Animals As Leaders’ Tosin Abasi who capped off our Saturday schedule with some incredible playing on his Pegasus/Sentient-loaded Ibanez fanned-fret 8-string prototype. Check it out.

We also had some friends drop by for autograph signings: Lita Ford, Jeff Loomis, Nick Johnston, Keith Merrow and the inimitable Yngwie Malmsteen, who signed for his fans and then took part in a photo shoot.

And on Friday night, our CEO Cathy Carter Duncan was honored at the She Rocks Awards presented by the Women’s International Music Network (the WiMN). Congratulations Cathy!

And on Saturday night we the Schecter/Seymour Duncan NAMM Party was host to crushing sets by Arch Enemy (featuring our new signature artist Jeff Loomis, of course) and Zakk Sabbath, Zakk Wylde’s all-Sabbath side project.

To all who visited us at NAMM this year, thanks for dropping by! We can’t wait to see you next year.

  1. The Seymour Duncan booth was fantastic this year! Came around to it several times. (The photographer there got a great shot of me with one of those crazy looking apocalyptic guys in costume and mask when Lita was there at the booth. Wish I could get a copy of that photo!) Got to meet Cathy Carter Duncan personally right before the She Rocks Awards began — very inspiring lady! Great company, great gear, great time at NAMM.

  2. Hey do you guys have the guitar track for Tosin Abasi’s cover of CAFO? I want to do a drum cover with the raw guitar track and drums. It would be just like guitar and drums only. It would be quite incredible for me to get a hold of that track. Thanks and please email me at [email protected]
