Fall 2015 Seymour Duncan Bass Scholarship Winner

Last Updated on January 29th, 2020

This year’s winner of the 2015 Musician’s Institute/Seymour Duncan Bass Scholarship is Santa Clarita CA’s own Jeremy Bauer. As a student of MI’s Bass Program, Jeremy says his goal will be “to soak in every bit of knowledge I possibly can from all my instructors and fellow musicians. I would like to leave MI as a confident and versatile bassist so I can take my skills into the career field.”

Bauer chose MI because he saw it as “more contemporary than other music schools I’ve looked at – great faculty, amazing facilities,” and feels their curriculum is more up-to-date, citing the Bass Synth class to keep up with the rise of EDM (Electronic Dance Music). “It will be a very important instrument that bassists should know in today’s world,” he says. Jeremy’s bass specialties lie in the rock, classic rock, blues and punk genres, but he’ll be exposed to so much more as an MI student.

In addition to his desire to become  a touring musician, his other love is the studio. Jeremy is determined to also become a beyond competent engineer and producer, to “create my own sounds the way I want them to sound, and to help other people develop their sound into what they want to sound like.”  Sounds like he’s got the right attitude, and he’s certainly in the right place. Jeremy is at a great starting point with his studies, and in his budding career! Seymour Duncan would like to congratulate Jeremy on his achievement. We and everyone at MI can’t wait to see his progress, and to watch him reach his full potential.

Seymour Duncan is proud to sponsor this scholarship with Musician’s Institute to provide opportunities for talented young musicians to receive all the tools, support and guidance they need to have productive, successful careers in the music business.
