Custom Stack Plus Strat

A noiseless version of our popular SSL-5 Custom Staggered for Strat pickup, the Custom Stack Plus will give you all the extra output and drive without losing that unique Stratocaster voice. The low notes are tight and snappy, but the high end is focused without being overly bright. The midrange also has a slight vocal quality that adds an extra layer of expression to your sound. And this noiseless Strat pickup is dead quiet.

Back in the 80s we patented a special bottom coil that actually injects negative hum into the pickup circuit. Alnico 5 rod magnets are used for authentic vintage tone, and tappable 3-conductor wire is used for when you want to switch to true single coil mode with lower output and more chime. At the end of the production process we fine tune each individual pickup for maximum noise cancelation, and each pickup is wax-potted for squeal-free operation.

This pickup is designed to look like a traditional Strat single coil, and it works great in the neck, middle, or bridge positions. Or, you can pair it with our Classic Stack Plus Strat in the neck and middle positions. The Custom Staggered for Strat noiseless Strat pickup is hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA.

  • Neck/Middle/Bridge position models will have the same output, wind direction and magnetic polarity.

Diamondhead

Across genres and generations, the sound of a half stack pushed hard with drive and boost has become a standard for rock tones. No genre or era of players has been more heavily defined by these iconic sounds than the classic metal and hard rock pioneers of the late seventies and eighties. Think Judas Priest, RATT, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Ozzy – their combination of tube heads and drive pedals resulted in some of the most iconic guitar tones of all time.

Diamondhead captures the power and versatility of that era-defining rig in a package that will find a space on any pedalboard. Whether you’re running it into a clean pedal platform amp or into the frontend of an overdriven tube amp, the Diamondhead provides the flexibility and tonal clarity to authentically capture the sound that defined an era.

It all starts with the drive – from breathy and raw medium gain sounds to screaming high-gain harmonics, Diamondhead is deep and three-dimensional, with clarity and touch response.

Three powerful active EQ controls maximize the potential of the gain section. A tightly defined bass control boosts and cuts at 80 Hz, with surgical precision – making the low end huge, but never muddy. A broader mid-range control set right at 800 Hz allows for massive scooped chunk, hyper aggressive modern attack, and everything in between. And the Treble control, set at 6 kHz, adds sizzle, cut, and attack.

The SAT Switch (based on our 805 Overdrive) adds a 24dB pre-gain boost that tightens up the low end for more aggressive and defined attack. Subtly rolling off lows and highs, it allows the mid-range to cut through, creating chewy, harmonic saturation.

Independent from the Drive section, the Boost (activated with the left footswitch) offers 0 to 15 dB of available gain and can be used as a lead boost or to push an amp on the edge into overdrive. Try using it with a slightly dirty amp as the first gain stage and adding the Drive section for your highest gain sounds.

Diamondhead also shines as a pre-amp. By running it into the effects return of your tube amp, or in front of our PowerStage power amps you’ll be rewarded with a hot-rodded high gain amp tone with body, bite, and character.

If you’ve gone through a pile of overdrives, distortions, and boost pedals searching for that quintessential 80s metal or hard rock tone and haven’t been satisfied, make Diamondhead the heart of your rig – versatile enough to handle any covers set, precise enough to surgically dial in your own tone – it captures the rock n roll spirit of a high gain head pushed to the edge.

Wavelength™ Duo – Nylon

The Multi-Source combines the popular Wave-Length pickup system with a condenser microphone for versatility, flexibility, and the most natural sound possible from your acoustic guitar. The Multi-Source uses the Wave-Length unitary design, piezoelectric co-polymer under-saddle pickup coupled to an 18-volt, low-noise, high-input impedance preamp with twice the dynamic range of typical 9-volt systems. Two AA batteries power the 18-volt preamp. With 18 volts, your signal has more headroom so hard strumming or plucking won’t distort into piezo quack as easily.

This system is available in both nylon-string and steel-string options._x000D__x000D_With the addition of the highly efficient miniature, omni-directional electret condenser microphone, you can amplify your acoustic guitar with startling clarity and accuracy. The mic is nestled in a special absorptive visco-elastic polymer shock mount for optimal isolation. Two lightweight, low-profile knobs allow for master volume and microphone volume. Dial the microphone in to add just the right amount of air; dial it out to control feedback, if necessary. Speaking of feedback, the microphone channel has two stages of low frequency roll-off to combat any tendency towards low frequency feedback. Also, full coverage copper shielding on the pickup insures immunity to external noise fields. This system is quiet.

The installation instructions contain a stereo wiring option that allows you to separate the pickup and mic. With this option, the pickup gets sent to the Tip connection, and the mic get sent to the ring connection of the output jack for use with a two-channel preamp._x000D_

Steve Bailey 3-Band

Designed to be used with passive pickups, this version of our Tone Circuits will add a tremendous amount of on-board tonal versatility to any bass with 2 passive pickups. Our design enables players to boost or cut specifically focused frequencies in order to achieve signature tones and to dial in a great sound no matter what the situation.

The STC-3PSB provides bass and treble controls, a midrange control, a master volume, a blend control, and our special frequency contour switch. This preamp was voiced by Steve Bailey to have three bands of focused EQ, together with a switch that engages a frequency contour optimized to bring out fretless harmonics as well as mid-range boost. The frequency contour is engaged by pulling up of the volume control. We even added two small trim pots on the circuit board can be tweaked to preset the frequency contour EQ just the way you want.

The STC-3PSB Tone Circuit will work in any fretless bass that has space for 4 control knobs (volumefreq switch, blend, concentric bass and treble, and midrange controls) and a single 9v battery in the control cavity. Two 9v batteries can be wired together in series for added headroom.

We include all necessary mounting hardware high-quality potentiometers on pre-wired harness; battery clip; and black anodized, knurled, dome-style knobs.

Music Man Active Preamp

The STC-3M3 is the 3-knob version of our Music Man Tone Circuit, and has a stacked bass/treble control, a midrange control, and a master volume with a push/pull for our proprietary Slap Switch. The treble control can produce a wide ranging, extremely usable response that is brilliant, yet smooth without being brittle. The lows are deep, clear, and tight. The mids range from ultra-smooth to punchy and all points in between. The Slap Switch is a push/pull located on the volume control. Pulling up on the volume knob will engage the special EQ contour Voiced specifically for slap playing. The two small trim pots on the circuit board can be tweaked to preset the slap contour EQ just the way you want. Combine with our Music Man replacement pickups for a complete setup.

The STC-3M3 is specifically designed for Stingray basses but will also work in any bass that is equipped with one passive pickup and has space for 3 control knobs (volume/slap switch, midrange, concentric bass/treble control) and a single 9v battery in the control cavity.  Two 9v batteries can be wired together in series with for added headroom.

We include all necessary mounting hardware: high-quality potentiometers on pre-wired harness; battery clip; stereo jack; and black anodized, knurled, dome-style knobs. NOTE: this preamp is designed for use with a standard 2-coil Music Man style pickup and will NOT work properly if combined with a 3-coil Sterling style pickup.
