Antiquity™ Duo-Sonic

The Antiquity for Duo-Sonic single-coil pickups deliver the clear, smooth, spanky tone that made these guitars so well loved. We build them with vintage-correct construction, complete with the proper size pole pieces that extend slightly through the baseplate. The flat pole pattern also helps to give you the nice, even string balance that is so characteristic of the Duo-Sonic—great for both chording and fingerstyle playing. Use these as replacement pickups for your original Duo-Sonic or to add mojo to a modern one. Fender has reissued the short-scale 6-string that has long been a favorite of alt-rockers, and these hand-built Custom Shop single-coil pickups are the perfect upgrade. The Antiquity for Duo Sonic uses untumbled Alnico 2 rod magnets, a custom coil wind with heavy formvar wire, and cloth push-back lead wire. Each pickup is lacquered and wax potted.

Antiquity II™ Mustang

Seymour still remembers having his band mates drive him to 8th Street Music in Philadelphia back in the 60s to buy his first Fender Mustang after seeing one played on TV. There’s nothing like the sound of a Mustang with its short scale length, unique vibrato, and customized pickups. The Antiquity II Myth Mustang single coil pickups deliver a tone that is springy and almost bouncy like a Strat, but with a honkier midrange quality, and just the right amount of harmonic sparkle. The specially calibrated Alnico 5 rod magnets will add a nice, natural sustain to your instrument, and we use the same diameter and height pole pieces as the originals. Hand built in our Custom Shop, the Antiquity II vintage Mustang single coil pickups uses calibrated Alnico 5 rod magnets, vintage-correct light gray bottom flatwork, a custom coil wind with heavy formvar wire, cloth push-back lead wire, and each pickup is lacquered and wax potted.

Antiquity ’55™ Tele

After early production of the flat-pole Telecaster lead pickup, in 1954 Fender began to manufacture pickups with raised D and G poles to provide a more even string response and output for those guitars with a 7.25″ radius fretboard. With the Antiquity Tele 55 you get the same bright, twangy tone as our flat-pole Antiquity Tele Lead but with a little more edge.

The neck model’s bass response is full and round, and will add richness to your chords, while the specially calibrated hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets, and custom coil winding give the treble a smoother, more musical attack. It’s great for big, bold rhythm playing, and percussive enough for classic country-style chicken pickin’.

A no-brainer upgrade to any Telecaster, each Antiquity Tele 55 is hand-fabricated and scatter-wound in our Custom Shop, and all parts are aged to give the look and sound of a pickup that has been played for decades. We use vintage-style push-back cloth wire, and they are all lacquered and potted in lamp black paraffin wax, just like they were in the ’50s.

Antiquity II™ Tele

The Antiquity II Tele vintage Telecaster bridge pickup is built with specially calibrated, hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets, with the period-correct pole stagger. There is plenty of snap and bounce to the low strings, and the high strings give you that classic Tele twang, but with none of the dreaded “ice pick” harshness. It’s obviously great for country, but plenty of rockers rely on this pickup to work their magic.

The Antiquity II Tele Rhythm pickup also uses hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets, as well as a special coil wind to deliver a clear, bright, and balanced Tele neck tone. There is plenty of warmth as well as crisp detail that makes this a great pickup for players who use a hybrid picking style or do lots of string bending. In fact, Seymour wound the rhythm pickup as the perfect match for the unique picking style and intricate bends he used on his own mid-’60s maple-neck Tele.

With the Antiquity II Tele vintage pickups, you can get the look and sound of the ultimate ’60s Telecaster. We use custom aged, gray bottom flatwork, brass plated steel bottom plate, vintage push-back cloth wire, and each pickup is lacquered and wax potted, just like the originals.

Antiquity™ Tele

The Antiquity Tele Lead will give you that early-’50s Tele tone, but with the high end sweetened by the custom-calibrated, hand-ground Alnico 2 rod magnets. What you get is the classic Tele twang and snap, but with a treble response that is bright but never piercing.

The Antiquity Tele Rhythm is a faithful reproduction of an early-’50s Tele neck pickup. The bass response is full and round, and will add richness to your chords, while the specially calibrated hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets and custom coil winding give the top end a smoother, more musical attack. It’s great for big, bold rhythm playing, and percussive enough for classic country-style chicken pickin’, with a reverse wound/reverse polarity design for hum-canceling when used in combination with the Antiquity Tele Lead pickup.

Like the originals, the ferrous bottom plates are not wax potted for that classic Telecaster tone that’s just on the verge of feedback. Each pickup is hand-fabricated and scatter-wound in our Custom Shop, and all parts are aged to give the look and sound of a pickup that has been played for decades. We use vintage-style push-back cloth wire, a custom-aged, deep-drawn cover for neck models, and all Antiquity Tele vintage Telecaster pickups are lacquered and potted in lamp black paraffin wax, just like they were in the ’50s.

Antiquity™ Texas Hot

With its ultra period-correct look and sound, the Antiquity Texas Hot pickguard gives you an authentic vibe all day long. It’s loaded with our Antiquity Texas Hot pickup set, which includes the hotter Custom Bridge for added versatility and an RW/RP (reverse would/reverse polarity) middle for noiseless 2 and 4 positions along the 5-way selector switch.

The Antiquity Texas Hot pickups are made using our custom wind and specially aged Alnico II rod magnets to give you that unique vintage spank and sparkle. You will find the tone of this preloaded pickguard to be as authentic as its look. Each Antiquity Pickguard is personally signed by Seymour. We use single-ply white matte pickguard material with the classic 8-hole screw pattern.

The 50s look is further enhanced by the authentic potentiometers and cap values we chose, along with the old-school yellow paper tape that holds the pickup wires together. These details were chosen to give you a truly vintage experience. Each pickup is lacquered and potted in lamp black paraffin wax, like the originals.

Antiquity™ JB/Jazz

The Antiquity JB Jazz Set represents the first of the 1970s-era pickups given the Antiquity treatment. These hot rodded humbuckers deliver a sound with rich harmonics, and a balance of sustain, distortion, and clarity, sweetened by the mellowing effect of aged alnico 5 magnets and years of simulated sweat, dust, and oxidation. That familiar tonal character is all there the bridge position upper mids that cut through so nicely, and the neck position warmth and articulation.

Each Antiquity JBJazz set is hand built with the same original materials that we used to make them in the 70s, including long legged nickel silver bottom plate, maple spacer, original Jazz and JB model stamp, rough sand cast alnico 5 bar magnet, heavily aged butyrate bobbins, and vintage style push-back braided single conductor lead wire. The electronic and cosmetic treatments of our proprietary Antiquity aging process give these pickups the look, sound, and feel of a real-deal set of 70s Seymour Duncans.

Antiquity™ Strat

Give your Stratocaster the warm bell like chime normally reserved for priceless vintage instruments. The Antiquity Texas Hot Neck produces that familiar, spanky Stratocaster tone, but with a sweet tonal character that only a decades old vintage Stratocaster pickup can produce. Its treble attack is softened by the specially degaussed alnico 2 rod poles, and we inject just the right amount of smoke, sweat, and grime to give them that perfect grit.

The middle pickup in the set is RW/RP for the perfect hum-free cluck in the 2 and 4 positions. The Antiquity Texas Hot Custom Bridge is wound hotter than the neck & middle versions to give your Stratocaster better overall balance and increased versatility without losing the vintage vibe. The spank and sparkle is all there and the increased output provides just enough midrange to help your tone cut through where traditional Strat bridge pickups fall short. Single notes sound robust and chords are harmonically rich. The custom aged alnico 2 rod magnets create less string pull, and that means more sustain.

This pickup set is custom aged both cosmetically and magnetically to simulate the wear and tear that a pickup goes through after decades of playing. Each comes with a specially aged cover, and the individually ground alnico 2 rod poles are specifically calibrated to deliver just the right combination of chime and sweetness. Each Antiquity Texas Hot vintage Stratocaster pickup is lacquered and potted in lamp black paraffin wax, like the originals.

  • All sets, except the Jimi Hendrix signature model, come with a Middle RWRP as the Middle Pickup.
  • Middle RwRP position (reverse wind/reverse polarity) – choose this to have a pickup that will be hum-cancelling with one of our neck or bridge models.

Antiquity™ JB

The Antiquity JB delivers rich harmonics, and a balance of sustain, distortion, and clarity, sweetened by the mellowing effect of a custom aged alnico 5 bar magnet and years of simulated sweat, dust, and oxidation. Wound to the original spec of 16.4k, that familiar JB upper midrange is all there, but the overall tonal character feels smoother because of the way the treble attack is softened by the aging process.

Each Antiquity JB humbucker is hand built with the same original materials that we used to make them in the 70s, including long legged nickel silver bottom plate, maple spacer, original JB model stamp, rough sand cast alnico 5 bar magnet, heavily aged butyrate bobbins, and vintage style push-back braided single conductor lead wire. The electronic and cosmetic treatments of our proprietary Antiquity aging process give this pickup the look, sound, and feel of a real-deal 70s JB.

Antiquity™ Jazz HB

The Antiquity Jazz Model humbucker is the neck counterpart to the Antiquity JB, and is designed to give you the look and sound of a vintage 70s classic. It delivers the same balance of warm fullness, and articulation that the Jazz Model has become so famous for, but with a subtle mellowing in the treble response that a custom aged alnico 5 bar magnet creates.
